Ambitious? I feel like October is worst case scenario :D I'm planning to be out there by August. If we get the paperwork right on the first try, I'm sure it will be achievable.

Yes, if you have all the necessary documents you need for the NVC stage and don't get checklisted, you may be able to get a Green Card within four months of your NOA2 date.

That also depends on how busy your Embassy/Consulate is for setting up an immigration interview. :star:

I don't want to get checklisted at the NVC stage! I spent all day reading a lot of info on the NVC stage yesterday. :bonk:

My husband got a RFE while out of town working and got a reminder text about it only friday saying its due on Saturday the 26, he only got to read the actual letter a few minutes ago, they want a passport photo of him and his biological information..is this correct and needed? As I am the beneficiary and he is the petitioner. He didn't send his passport photo initially maybe he was supposed to? But he filled in both our biological information in the initial application and only my passport photo was included.,very strange in deed. Can someone help me with this, I have a feeling they have mixed up who is the applicant etc but the NOA1 is correct.

Thanks from a stressed Irish woman stranded in Ireland waiting for her spousal visa.

:-)

Strange that we both have same PD, are at the same service center, and have RFE for the same thing. They asked for our passport photos.

When did he get the RFE message? They usually give 80-90 days to respond to RFE. It can't be that they just gave you guys till 26th as due date for RFE. Are you sure about that?

My wife's application got approved, but my stepson's application got an RFE.

It's add that my wife's application got approved a week earlier and I just got the RFE for my stepson.

Best of luck to everyone.

BTW, anyone petitioning for wife and stepchild if so, please let me know.

Hmmm...so speaking of when to expect our significant other to be able to come to the US I happened to see another thread (and I don't usually view anything except this thread...I was just browsing for once) where the people were discussing the time from NVC case complete until the interview gets scheduled.

This thread was specific to Egypt, but some people were saying it takes an additional 6 months after NVC to get your interview!!!! That is crazy. Now, some of the people were K1 filers and that is different, but there was one or two I think that were I-130 filers. Now, this isn't a very big sample size and I refuse to believe that it takes everyone 6 months to have their interview scheduled- but apparently it can really differ greatly depending on what country you're interviewing in. I'm honestly going to stay positive and hope that's it's more like 3 or 4 months. I cannot wait 6 more months- the past 6 were so frustrating as it was!

I feel like I am the only transfer to CSC still waiting. My case was transferred March 10. I know that I am not alone. Just feels like that. Was hoping to have resolution by October but now I am starting to think end of year is more likely. Boo hoo.

I've called USCIS a couple times to see about putting in a service request. I was told that the system wouldn't allow them to put one in because my case is still inside the processing time. :( I don't understand why there hasn't been any movement on our case. PD 10/4, transferred to NSC on 3/12. I don't think we will get an RFE, but maybe if we do at least Ill know that our case is being looked at! I'm so happy for everyone else that has already been approved. I just want to join the group! haha :(

I keep seeing that you guys are saying that you're hoping for an October arrival into the US. Is July out of the question? I'm hoping we get approval this week or at least before April is over. Get a NVC case number by the end of May, first week of June. Then begin the process of sending stuff in and applying for the actual visa. How quickly do you guys think this process can be done? I have all the AOS documents already and my husband has all his documents ready to go for the IV package. Is it unrealistic to think he could be home sometime in July? I think the Sydney consulate is pretty fast for interviews. Any thoughts you all might have will help ease my mind during this wait......

I have a feeling that you'll get approved soon (maybe this week?) without filing for service request assuming your case is straight-forward.

July is possible, but very tight. I'm hoping July too, but I don't know if I'll be able to make it even though I zip through the NVC stage.

I hope I get a case number sooner. Due to a backlog, it takes one month to get a case number after your application has been forwarded to NVC. :(
