LOL! I know, right? I mean how does that happen? :P

That's a good idea, I will call and close it just in case. I was also wondering how come they approved my I-129F( K3 ) at the same time? I thought they usually closed out the K3 and just approved the I-130 ? I wasn't expecting to be approved for both of them.

Thanks :) I hope you are next!

Yes, it is so weird- I was so frustrated the past week about the case (and why I filed the service request) and I was approved all the time. They really do need to get it together!

NVC will usually close the K-3, or the embassy depending on how far you get with it after approval :)

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

I sent in my application for the police certificate last Thursday and was worrying all day today about it since they still haven't cashed the cheque. Then at 11pm I got an email from them to say they'd received it and are working on it. I always assume the worst is going to happen! I haven't even called NVC yet because I'm super anxious on the phone and don't want to deal with rude people >.< I really need to get over it and pick up the phone (well, Skype)...

Approved!

My son and I had a high five :)

I got the letter in the mail today, BUT the online status was never updated. The letter says that my husband was approved April 11th. Gee- COULD they have updated it and saved me the stress of the past 5 days? Also, the 129F (K3) as approved as well. Got both the letters at the same time. I'll just go with the I-130 route I guess.

People at the VSC, that's good news. It looks like they are moving on the approvals...and maybe some other people were approved at the VSC and don't even know it.

NOA 1: 10/1

NOA 2: 4/11

Congratulations!!!

My wife's police certificate took about a week. The NVC has been super easy to talk to, I have spoken with about 8 different reps so far and they have all been very nice and helpful.

Ah OK- you know I took a second look at the hard copies and I noticed that the K3 has a validity date on it (says from 4/11 to 8/10) whereas the I-130 doesn't. So I guess if you don't take action on the K3 it just expires.

Congrats!! Been quiet here lately. Glad to see your approval. Also this week is short of one day if they are taking holiday on Good Friday. Hope things pick up soon.

I was wondering if this slowdown was because of people taking off for income tax and Easter holiday. I guess this Friday is a holiday in the US. :clock:

I was looking at http://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/us/. It looks like next Monday (4/21) is a statutory holiday in Texas and next Friday (4/25) is a statutory holiday in Nebraska. :clock:

Got an RFE

Well it took over two weeks to get my RFE (actually my lawyer got it, I still do not have a copy). USCIS said that they could not read my wedding certificate. This was total BS because I have similar copies here for my files which are perfect. My lawyer said her copies were perfect also. She said that they probably either lost it, or damaged it somehow. Hopefully I was see an approval in 3 to 4 weeks. :(

Haha I knoow! But I just can't resist to read everything so I find myself checking VJ everytime I get a chance... My husband says I'm a bit obsessed lol.. But I want to make sure the process runs smoothly and avoid checklists :/

I've managed to skim over some posts... Some people ask simple things that are already on the wiki over and over again and others ask regional specific stuff about their required docs- especially police certificates and birth certificates. I can't help much on that part since I'm the only Venezuelan on VJ who is currently at this stage besides the user Leebea.

Oh well, congrats again to you and the other recent approvals!!

Hopefully this week we'll hear of more approvals :)

My husband thinks the same with me. I am constantly talking about it and he thinks I'm neurotic and obssessed :(

I'm just tired of waiting and I want things to run smoothly. Sometimes I think he doesn't understand that. I'm ranting...

That's weird, because someone on here told me that even if you use a lawyer, USCIS will mail you a copy of the notice too. I am also willing to bet they misplaced your marriage certificate copy, because mine wasn't the best... you couldn't even see the seal on it because the light from the copier blinded it out!

If I were you, I would send in a certified copy from the court house. They can't claim that that is illegible :)
