Approved!

My son and I had a high five :)

I got the letter in the mail today, BUT the online status was never updated. The letter says that my husband was approved April 11th. Gee- COULD they have updated it and saved me the stress of the past 5 days? Also, the 129F (K3) as approved as well. Got both the letters at the same time. I'll just go with the I-130 route I guess.

People at the VSC, that's good news. It looks like they are moving on the approvals...and maybe some other people were approved at the VSC and don't even know it.

NOA 1: 10/1

NOA 2: 4/11

Congrats! Great news! I'm so happy for you. I hope VSC is processing more applications now.

Question: You called USCIS and talked to an agent to file for service request on Monday or yesterday. The agent didn't tell you that you got approved on 4/11? Oh, it wasn't updated on the system so the agent probably thought your case was still in progress! Yes, they could have updated and saved you the stress.

Thanks!!!!

NO! Can you believe that the agent didn't tell me? She even filed a service request for me- I have the reference number! Like how is that possible? Doesn't that just tell you how disorganized they are? It must be because the system hasn't been updated for like a week or more at the VSC. She actually at first told me, oh, it looks that you case is at the NBC so I'll check the processing times for there. I was so surprised! I said, no, it got transferred to VSC so then she checked those time. She didn't even know where my app was at, never mind that I was approved days ago But I'm holding the hard copy approvals for both the I-130 and the !-129F right now, so I guess that's all that count. Makes no sense, right?

So now I have hope that some other people here that are at the VSC have been approved and don't know it. I actually live in Vermont (3 hours from the center) and just got the letter today- 5 days after I got approved. So those that live in other parts of the country maybe will get their letters later this week from the VSC.

Did you get your paper mailed noticed before you got your email or the website was updated? I'm waiting at VSC too. :(

Wow! That is crazy! Yes, you have the hard copy approvals so you're moving onto NVC!

I wonder what USCIS/VSC is going to do with your service request. You may want to call them back to close it. <_<

Actually, you might be the first person filing for service request after getting approved (not your fault, thanks to disorganized employees at USCIS/VSC).

Your online status has not changed, but how about USCIS account? I mean maybe we can check our last update data on "my portfolio " page after log in. Has it not changed yet as well?

I never got an email and my case status online still says "Initial Review" up until right now. On my paper copy that came in the mail today it says approved on 4/11. I hope you get approved soon! When is your priority date?

LOL! I know, right? I mean how does that happen? :P

That's a good idea, I will call and close it just in case. I was also wondering how come they approved my I-129F( K3 ) at the same time? I thought they usually closed out the K3 and just approved the I-130 ? I wasn't expecting to be approved for both of them.

Congratulations!

Yes, it is so weird- I was so frustrated the past week about the case (and why I filed the service request) and I was approved all the time. They really do need to get it together!

I looked in the account now just in case, but the last update says 3/24 Alien Registration Number changed. Nothing about any approvals. So strange. Am glad for the approval, but I don't understand!

Congrats!! Been quiet here lately. Glad to see your approval. Also this week is short of one day if they are taking holiday on Good Friday. Hope things pick up soon.

Thanks :)

Me too- I hope they start picking up the pace at VSC...and I wonder if other were approved and just don't know quite yet. I really hope.

Today my case was received at the NVC, so just to give a general idea it took me about 17 days from approval, which I think is towards the longer end compared to most. But at least it's there, safe and sound... In the beginning I called about a week after approval, and then a week and a half after. Then I got really nervous and just called every day until finally today, the lady says okay we just received this case but it hasn't been put in the system. Relieved!

Hang in there guys, you should see the people who received approvals after one year waiting, we are all very fortunate by comparison.
