That report helps to confirm need for Arizona's Prop 200 - prove citizenship if you want to vote - aspect.

Hope any states not following suit get on board & do the same.

You're delusional.

This country has been blowing your theory out of the water for 230 years and now its suddenly a problem because Fox says so? The country is shut down because of Republican's, that's the bottom line. Currently they are hijacked by the tea party...those are facts. They have no choice but to raise the debt ceiling. If they do not raise it the economy will collapse and implode. That again is another fact. Wanting to see if that happens is not why they were elected.

Yes, they are doing so much for the country right now by not doing anything. Keep believing your fantasy.

LOL tax, borrow, and spend was a problem in the 90's (yes, before Fox News, do you remember?) and it is a problem now. The government is shut down because the president, who was elected in part because he promised to rein in spending, especially on frivolous wars, reneged on his promise. So his majority congress was voted out for the same dam reason. The government is shut down because it spends too much and borrows too much and the economy cannot sustain that.

25% of the government's income goes to paying interest on the debt. THAT is why there is no money to fund programs. I assume you can read. I don't necessarily pay attention to Fox News but I do pay attention to the CBO. The CBO explains it nicely to the terminally stupid who believe that a higher and higher percentage of income should go to pay interest on debt rather than go to pay for what the government is charted to do:

http://www.cbo.gov/publication/43288

Rising debt also would have other negative consequences beyond those estimated effects on output. It would:

  • Result in higher interest payments on that debt, which would eventually require higher taxes, a reduction in government benefits and services, or some combination of the two.
  • Restrict policymakers’ ability to use tax and spending policies to respond to unexpected challenges, such as economic downturns or financial crises.
  • Increase the probability of a sudden fiscal crisis, during which the government would lose its ability to borrow at affordable rates.

Hopefully you eventually get it. Please review the estimated effects on economic output.
