"The change was announced Monday by Attorney General Tom Horne and Secretary of State Ken Bennett, both Republicans."

"Because Arizona law requires a registration applicant to provide evidence of citizenship, registrants who have not provided sufficient evidence of citizenship should not be permitted to vote in state and local elections,"

"The federal registration form requires registrants only to say they're citizens, but it doesn't require they submit proof."

"The Arizona Democratic Party condemned the move as testing "the boundaries of absurdity."

Protecting the right to vote is a problem?

The right to vote is already protected. There's no problem that needs to be fixed. There's a fix being implemented that will add tons of bureaucracy, cost lots of money and yet lacks an underlying problem. The only voter fraud that occurred in the last election were voter suppression efforts orchestrated by the very same people that push this nonsense.

I don't know how you came up with that nonsense thinking that it has anything to do with what I just posted but I guess it makes sense to you.

May I ask, what is it that you're smoking?

Is voter fraud everywhere? Is it even a problem? I don't know of any large scale voter fraud cases ever being proven, do you? I'm sure you might get one or two stragglers here or there, but certainly nothing that depicts a large scale problem that requires a gov't fix. There's a lot of noise made by Republicans about voter fraud every election, but where are the proven cases that it even exists on any large scale?

Note: I am in favor of voter id laws, simply because I believe everyone should have a form of gov't issued identification to prove they are who they say they are, but voter fraud is not nearly the problem that Republicans want everyone to think it is.

How dare they deny illegals the right to vote

More opression

Since there is no such thing as voter fraud it will not be an issue

I had to show an ID a few weeks ago when i voted

It added about 2 seconds to the process

More absurd Lib Logic

They assert no illegals are voting but raise hell if you ask people to show proof

Logic would dictate that

If only Legal U.S. citizens are voting and they are eligible to vote then showing proof would be no big deal

Kind of like raising hell because the police are going to enforce the speed limit, but maintaining no one ever speeds.

Did you read the article?

All they want = provide proof of citizenship on the federal registration just like is already being done for the state registration.

They are just using foresight. How absurd! rolleyes.gif

The Dems protesting this is the absurdity.

Look, I don't disagree that its not a big deal to show you're a citizen to vote. BUT, as much as the left is opposing this because they know it will cost them votes, the right is pushing it because they know it will be less votes against them. THAT'S WHAT ALL OF THIS IS ABOUT. Anything else is anecdotal.

I read the article, what posesses you to even ask that question? I think you like to hear yourself type.

I know what they want and I'm saying this is not a problem that needs fixing. You seem to think it is, or it will be in the future. How do you make that determination? Is voter fraud even a problem now? What makes you think it will be? The gov't never uses foresight, what they do is waste time and money on things that don't need fixing, that goes for both sides.

What about the elderly who might not have proof of their US citizenship? What then?

I agree & disagree.

1 Yes. It's a fight for votes. Demgenerates want the ILLEGAL votes.

2 No. It's about protecting the law & RIGHT to vote.
