hey guys,

so my finace is an officer in the u.s. navy. we received our NOA2 yesterday and are now working on the next steps necessary. i gathered, that he will have to fill out the I-134 as a way to show his ability to support me.

question: he has only held that position since last year has never done a tax return.

is the following evidence enough, or if not, what else should be included:

- three most recent pay stubs

- letter of his XO or CSO stating his job title, position, salary, and full-time status

thanks

He can request transcripts from the IRS, which might show something useful. If he hasn't filed, but was supposed to, now is the time to own up and file back returns. If he wasn't required to file, probably some statement showing that and signed by him. Letter from CO is really good.

But, in the end, you might want to think about a joint sponsor. Just to be safe.

he only started receiving pay the beginning of this year. so there is no need to file a return for last year.

his co signaled that he would type up a letter stating the above mentioned things.

why would we need a co-sponsor? as annual salary is well above the poverty limit.
