I honestly have not followed him close enough to know a whole lot about him

I pretty much think they are slime and both sides play to their base and screw all of us

I think your idea of picking people at random to serve politically is the best idea I've heard in a long time.

They'd probably do better than the current crop of elected officials have. By the time they get to washington the candidates have lost their soul.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

And that is Forbes. They don't easily pizz on the folks over on the right. But if and when they do, you know that you're looking at a total f**k-up.

Yup Yup. If'n Forbes has crucified him, well, I'm sorry - it's just not happening, this foray into being an American Hero.

But I digress.

I laughed at folk supporting Palin, I laughed at folk supporting Bachmann,

but

I think it takes the same level of stupidity, to follow those two as it does Cruz. I'm just not having any.

No Thank You.

I am thinking you might be an anti-freeze candidate

I respect your right not to be killed with a gun

Anti-freeze is too non-committal. I would appreciate some knife-work.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

You can't move for stories about Cruz in the media, so I fail entirely to see how he has been silenced by the press, more's the pity.

Obviously you ain't counting BM's, aka bowel movements.

I will have one of those, for Cruz, you betcha.

I bet he has the same publicist as Miley C.

In america today, it's only important to keep your name in the news..Not so important why.

Much too pedestrian

The comparison of Cruz to Wendy Davis is perfect. They both wasted a lot of time talking knowing they would accomplish nothing. It was all about ego and their future ambitions. The media should treat them both the same. They are both simply politicians looking to make a name for themselves.

Here's the problem: Wendy Davis was actually doing something when she filibustered her way to the end of the Texas special session. Her filibuster was intended to run the clock down and prevent a vote on draconian restrictions to women's health in Texas.

Cruz, on the other hand, negotiated his 21-hour campaign ad at taxpayer expense with Harry Reid in advance, and he knew it wouldn't do anything other than give him a broadcast platform to spew more lies about the Affordable Care Act while simultaneously self-promoting for 2016. Evidence of the latter claim comes from the fact the Senate approved cloture 100-0 after Cruz finally wrapped things up. No "no" vote from Cruz. Just a lot of video for campaign ads.

We could also compare how Davis wasn't permitted to eat, drink, go to the bathroom or have anyone help her out, how she was forced to stay on topic for the full length of the filibuster or risk being shut down, and how she actually managed that against Cruz having his tea party buddies spell him every hour or so for a bit with long speeches framed as "questions", the availability of water and a podium to lean against.

One is a filibuster. The other was not. Sorry, but facts are facts.

They both talked for a given amount of time and then the opposing party did what they wanted to do anyways. Fact.

I don't know if you pay attention to Texas politics; but Wendy Davis was wasting her time.

She filibustered until the end of the session - correct.

Then Governor Perry did what everybody knew he would do. He called another special session and the bill passed anyway. So, she didn't prevent anything.

However, she did make herself famous enough that she'll probably be the Democrat that gets to lose to Greg Abbott in the next Governor's race.
