Hi everyone, she has been here since June 28th, we got married on August 25 and just last week submitted the AOS paperwork, I feel like I should be doing something else.. or so I just wait? Does anyone know how long it will be before she gets the EAD card and social security card ? Should I take her to the DMV to get a state ID? any info would be useful thank you in advance.

hi! congtats on your wed! well basically there's not much you can do but wait. Within 2 -4 weeks you should be receiving her appointment letter for her biometrics. The EAD takes 60-70 days to arrive by mail. For her SSN, she needs to go and apply, is not something they send you. Because her i94 its already expire, she needs to wait for her EAD or her GC and apply at the ssn office. I don't know if she can apply for an ID right now but I do know she needs her EAD at least, to get her DL.

Thank you very much, I want to put her on bills and add her to my accounts but they give me the run around because she really has no ID. At least now I know it's normal thanks again :)

I knowww! this is the story of the dog chasing his own tale....HAHAHAHAHAHA! you need to apply for a lot of stuff but you don't what they request and vice versa. In mi case (I was the beneficiary) my husband only included me on his health insurance (that was the only thing I can do), once I got my EAD he added me to his banks accounts, bills etc etc. But don't worry too much, if by the time of her interview (if she ever have one, I didn't have cause mine was waive like other many cases of people adjusting from k1) she doesn't have all her documentation or you can add her to all of your stuff, is normal and it wont be an issue.

It's a lil bit annoying the whole waiting thing, but see the bright side, at least she is here
