What's Mama doing for Bank Visiting? With that status, being a week gone, she should be trundling out to the Bank each day.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

CEAC shows 'issued'

visa packet generated - 3 to 7 days

visa packet moved to mailroom 1 to 4 days

CITIC BANK courier picks up visa packet - trackable maybe on ustraveldocs.com/cn

Visa Packet arrives in beneficiary's city's CITIC Bank location 2 to 7 days

beneficiary picks up VISA PACKET from CITIC bank.

When does "Your visa has been printed" occur during that sequence? (Also, what do the first two statuses you've listed mean?) Also, if the visa has been printed, does that mean the visa has avoided "Administrative Processing?"

Oh, wait. I see that at the top of the Status popup, it says "Issued" The "printed" part is in the details at the bottom.

Anyway, if the visa has been "Issued" does that mean there won't be any "Administrative" stuff from now on?

Just an FYI for comparison:

Ours never showed "printed".

On CEAC: It went from AP to "Issued" and stayed there until it was at the bank for pick-up.

On ustraveldocs.com, it went from "Still with Post" to "Received from Consulate Section" to "Available for pick-up".

All this took 9 days in total.

Her status on USTraveldocs changed from "Still with post" to "Passport has been received from consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery." Took 7 business days to get there.

They really need to clean up this system. It's ridiculous that there are two sites to check the status on, and they don't give the same status.

A related question:

My wife brought in the "cover page" indicating the visa pick-up location. This cover page was taken by the document intake person. Will the Consulate use this printed document to determine where to send the visa, or will the Consulate log into the USTravelDocs site to determine where to send it?

I'm asking because I'm not sure if what I did on the TravelDocs website actually succeeded in "registering" my wife. The website is very confusing, and it talks about "scheduling" an appointment, which clearly doesn't apply to my wife anymore, since she already passed.

I'm worried that the cover page isn't enough.

Thanks.

that cover page is what is used for visa packet delivery, she did the right thing to hand it over on interview day.

For EP Casefiles into Guangzhou, that ustraveldocs site has a huge disconnect - it doesn't read appointments already set from any DoS computer. EP Casefiles have interview set by NVC, a component of DoS, and GUZ IV sees the appointment in their computer systems.

Any scheduling you see there at ustraveldocs.com/cn is for paper casefiles that did not utilize EP at NVC. Sure, that's all the K-1s, K-3s, and a minority of folk on IR-1/CR-1 that not know to utilize EP at NVC.

Your wife's casefile was similar to my wife's casefile, for 'what to do' at that stupid ustraveldocs.com website - the only thing available to do, prior to interview day, was to generate a document coversheet for visa packet delivery.

Darnell - I am looking for some new people to annoy in regards to status updates while in administrative processing. Mostly, I call US travel docs @ 703-665-1986 or email them via support-china@ustraveldocs.com or contact Guangzhou Embassy @ +86020883909000 or via http://www.usembassy-china.org.cn/guangzhou/iv/email.html. What is this DoS hotline that you've mentioned? Can you provide me with that number?

Thanks for all this info, Darnell. This is very reassuring to hear. As you know the white "you passed" document they gave my wife refers to the TravelDocs website and tells you to "register" there.

But suppose my wife hadn't already printed out the cover page and given it at document intake (and I'm SURE that many people with EP are in this situation). How would we tell the Consulate where to send the visa in that case?

ah, in that case (I actually know this answer) -

after the interview -

she would have had 24 hours to register at ustraveldocs.com and select a CITIC bank. Her answer is stored in the system.

then....

ustraveldocs does send some report about this (I learned this when talking to the ustraveldocs/Guangzhou help desk) each day to Guangzhou IV Unit.
