How long after the interview did they notify you? It's BS that they asked you to do that when you obviously couldn't have gotten that far in the process without submitting it.

We just had our interview this week, and we're still a little skeptical and won't believe it until her visa is in hand.

Ciyin,

What is your status of the passport? We might be getting them around the same time. My mother's visa was issued on 10/29/2013.

We were notified 3-4 days after "passing" the interview. Still waiting.... My attorney has even contacted them on my behalf and he received the same generic ####### message we have (them = US travel docs). It's almost as if no one is even reading the question....

the USA USTravelDocs help desk is open at the USA Number, at the moment. NB - you have to punch through the voice attendant to get the human on duty, but they can see stuff in real time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

My experience is that USA USTravelDocs Customer Service is about as helpful and component as the USCIS customer service. All they can tell me is that my case is currently in administrative processing and if I email support-china@ustraveldocs.com that their supervisor will read the email and has the ability to contact the consulate directly. All attempts of that (applicant, petitioner, and attorney) have received what almost appears to be an automatic response.

I am getting to the point where I feel it would be beneficial to spin up a website and demand immigration reform. The lack of communication is the most frustrating, stressful part of this entire endeavor. Never thought I would become a lobbyist, but truthfully, I feel that I am at that point.

I have never, ever, gotten my email to go through to support-china@ustraveldocs.com

if'n you did - more power to ya. I just got a series of bounces and bad email filtering/routing reports.

I do enjoy talking with the helpdesk at ustraveldocs/China , though I fear each operator must punch a wall or take a 15 minute crying timeout after we're off the phone. No, I don't curse, but...

--

if you know the casefile is in administrative processing, then use the GUZ IV WebForm email thingie, asking pointed questions 1]did you review the material submitted 2]how much longer for the secondary review 3]when will it be approved 4]when will the visa packet be generated 5]when will the visa packet get put in the mailroom for courier pickup ?

Pointed questions seem to get things 'moving' if your casefile (like ours) is in AP after interview.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Here is the most recent response from US travel docs. Although, it's not helpful at all, I at least get the impression someone read and understood my question for a change.

Origin:

电邮

Case Reason:

Fw: Immigrant Visa Follow-up Instructions

Public Response:

Dear applicant,

Thank you for writing to the U.S. Visa Service Desk.
Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after your interview with a consular officer. You will be advised of this possibility during your interview. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of your visa interview. When additional administrative processing is required, the length of processing time will vary based on the circumstances of each case. Please be patient.

Yours sincerely,
U.S. Visa Service Desk.

I will take your advice about trying to get things moving with asking specific questions like that. Thanks for the suggestion.

My wife passed the interview on the morning of 11/4. I didn't check the CEAC status until just now, and it says:

"Status Updated Date: 05-Nov-2013

Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you were interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted."

I don't know if there was a previous status earlier today or on Monday.

By the way, the interviewer told my wife that the passport/visa would reach her in ONE week. Aren't most people told two weeks?

Question:

What is the full set of statuses, and what is their typical order? You know, something like:

Documents added to casefile

Visa printed

Visa packet generated.

Visa packet sent (or available for pickup).

Have I missed any?
