bump - ok folks - who has news of passport status/issuance/transit ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ah. I am getting so frustrated now. I have applied for a J-1 exchange visa. My interview was on 19th November. They said its approved and kept my passport and other documents and said it will take a month for additional processing. Now its almost 45 days, still Administrative processing.

No idea of what to do. Any type of customer service (emails, webforms, phone calls) comes up with what I can also see on the CEAC website - Administrative Processing. :(

phone calls? are you calling the DoS Hotline? Sure, it's a number in the USA, but they have other info. Can get the # from my profile, scroll all the way to the bottom.

I called them once. They asked me some info like my full name, passport number, DoB etc., and then said its under Administrative Processing in Beijing Consulate. I said this is what I already know from CEAC Website. Yet, no more details were provided.

I am so frustrated right now since the dates for my research program as an Exchange scholar are passing by....and I don't know what's happening to my passport.. :@

Since my fiancée's interview is Jan 29 (next Wednesday) and we need to start looking at buying plane tickets, what is a reasonable timeframe to expect pickup of her passport and package to CITIC? Would getting tickets for mid March be too soon? What should we expect?

Thanks - roxer

Well, she's flying to Guangzhou right now. Her interview will be tomorrow morning. My lawyers paralegal (she is Chinese) called her to go over everything. Seems they have a deal worked out with a local hotel there that will assist her when she arrives to go over everything. Nice! I am hoping to hear awesome news by this time tomorrow.

She passed her interview, wow! Said they only asker her one question and didn't even look at her stuff. Nice. :) VO said passport would be to her in one to two weeks. Web that's fast? Maybe because she is in a major city? So begins the passport reporting status. Woot!!
