Passport Tracking after approval

I haven't followed this thread very closely, but is there some sort of delay? My fiancee just received an email with a tracking number for her passport. I assume it's now not related to any IV Unit and CGI/Stanley shenanigans, but who knows.

What should she expect when she picks up the passport? From this thread, she'll expect her passport, a sealed envelope with a cut in the corner that she cannot/should not open, and papers on the outside of the sealed envelope that she should scan to me/not lose. Am I missing anything else?

That's weird - prior visa packet delivery was handled by CITIC bank.

If she has an EMS tracking number and if the visa packet is going to her house address (or work address) I'm just stumped,

as

this would be some different process for visa packet delivery.

Maybe it's now EMS handling the courier work, delivering to a CITIC Bank office?

Where do you think the visa packet will arrive?

--CITIC Bank or

--her home address or

--her work address?

Sorry, should have been clearer. In UStraveldocs, there was a place to choose "pick-up" location and we picked the location closest to her house. I'm guessing/assuming it's the CITIC Bank location near her house as it is not her work or home address.

bump. IV Unit and CGI/Stanley closed Thursday - anyone get anything this week, prior weekend or last week ?

Fiancee received her visa yesterday. Took a bit longer than others but we're glad she has it!

Lol, no, just the tracking number. They don't tell you where to put the information in to. I guess it's a final parting shot from IV/CGI/Stanley. Meh.

the packet is tracked at the CGI/Stanley website, ustraveldocs.com/cn

solely by the passport number.

If you have an EMS tracking number, that's different, use http://www.ems.com.cn/mailtracking/e_you_jian_cha_xun.html to track any EMS shipment.

Okay so my fiancée went back for fingerprinting on the 26th of this month and I checked our passport status,

It now says there is no status update information with the passport number you've submitted(something along the lines of that)

Before it use to say, your passport is with Post.

I hope there is some movement now?

ya, some internal working things at the IV Unit, based on what I was able to glean with my wife's passport and AP document tracking. 'No Info' for my wife's set, after the IV Unit received it, but some info prior.

However, there is a # to call in the USA, that trips over to a helpdesk at CGI/Stanley in China - a human there can tell you a bit more about where the passport is on any given day. It's sorta wonky to get a human, punching through the AVR options, but once you get a human, they can tell you more. I also called the Guangzhou helpdesk #, when they were open, thinking since they are in the same city, they'd have 'more accurate info' or a supervisor would be available to rattle. I usually called 11 PM CST, my fav time was Sunday evenings here.

also keep checking ceac.state.gov for status - it'll shift from AP to ISSUED, usually within 2 weeks of the AP requested materials hitting the IV Unit mailroom.

Who's calling the Guangzhou helpdesk # for CGI/Stanley, talking with a human ?

IV interview Nov. 12th: Approved, with request for two more documents. Passports handed back to my wife with blue paper.

Two additional documents submitted through Guangzhou CITIC bank Nov. 25th. Blue paper instructions: "DO NOT submit passports with these documents. You will be notified if we need you to submit your passport at a later time."

Dec. 2 status: Administrative Processing.

Does this mean that after clearing AP, we have to submit passports, then wait again? Or do they ever just send the visa packet without passports?

Hey Darnell, can you please provide the number for the CGI Stanley for Guangzhou? We have a little situation on my side too..

our lame lawyer helped schedule our interview for us (I know.. why do I even need one?).. and messed up on her dad's passport number.. lucky I found out two days ago and read through the whole email once again.. so now we have to reschedule her date to December 9 instead.. and need to submit the "provide feedback" form in order to make a change to the passport number.. It's only been one day, but I want to get the change done as soon as possible.. if they interviewed tomorrow, they might not pass because the passport numbers don't match.. how stupid is that..

I'm praying that by the end of this week my fiancee should have her Visa in hand, this way she can be here for Christmas, still patiently waiting_ although I'm going to contact the helpdesk today to find out more information on the status of our visa.

Yup. IMO - a human at that helpdesk can change the passport # in the cgi/stanley system and it'll feed over.
