I'm not racist

FWIW the Tea Party formed after GWB or toward th eend of his administration in response to a lot of things he did that they did not like, which indicates his policies had a lot to do with it. They formed to challenge Republicans, not Democrats. They run against Republicans in the primaries.

I know, right? I am SO glad he is not on my side.

Most legislative districts have been drawn (gerrymandered) so the incumbent is safe from opposition in the general election, by a candidate from the other party. The real opposition comes in the primary election, by others from your own party, if you do not toe the party line.

Tea party-ers challenge Republicans that they deem to be too moderate. (i.e., willing to work with the other party for the good of the country) The same problem, to a lesser extent, is true of the Democrats, and is part of the reason that our government is so dysfunctional.

Term limits; fairly drawn legislative districts; and limiting the influence of money in elections, would go a long way toward restoring our democracy.

Oh I am aware of the gossip, even Don Lemon swore he had seen the tape and would produce the clip after commercial, that was like years ago and we still wait.

But you are free to proceed on the rumor if you like, most people realize if it had been said over and over, someone would have picked it up on mic.

So why in that post about the black guys killing the white soldier, do you believe they said the word cracker? Is there video to back this up? What about a recording? Sounds like a witness said it and you agree with it. Several folks said it here and you don't believe it, why is that? You seem to have no issue if it's black on white racism. You ask for no proof, you take it at face value and run with it. But if it's black on white, no matter if 100 folks heard it and have it on film, you'd talk about free speech and their rights to be racist.

Agree with all except the term limits. You have those at the state level and looking at my home state, those don't buy you a way back to democracy.

The witness who was with him (another soldier) was interviewed on the local news and made that statement. That stabbing happened near the base and that's about 4 miles from where I live.

He should be charged with a hate crime if those statements are true. I think he could also be federally charged if that's the case.

I'm not saying that he didn't. If he did then yes he should be charged. I'm just pointing out to Danno that the burden of proof seems to be less when it's this type of crime.

I think only white, male, middle aged, heterosexual Christians with no disabilities and who are independently wealthy should be eligible for President since they are the only ones you can criticize without being some sort of "cist" or "phobe"

The concept of "protected classes" as President is flawed.

It's just funny that most of his opposition seem to hit him for stuff that GWB did. Where was the Tea party when Bush put the US in the recession? I mean, gun control has been on the table for a while, but when Clinton signed the anti-assault bill into law, there was no uprising. Everything they stand for or against has been in circulation for years, why would come out now and protest the new dude on the block a whopping month after he takes office?

TM wasn't committing a crime. FACT

GZ followed him for 4 minutes straight, first in the car, then on foot. FACT
