I wrote this question already, but it locked up on me, so I will try again.

Im wondering if anyone can help me with this form, with part 2 the application type. I am sending in the I 485, the I 765 and the I 131 all at the same time. What I would like to do is be able to go back to Ontario Canada in the summer to see my sons graduation and visit my parents and Im not sure how long the green card will take. Im not sure if I check off 1a or 1d??

Im also wondering if I will have a problem leaving the US for a few day visit and then returning to the US?? Or are there reasons people aren't allowed back in?? I am married to an american and living in the US, I just miss my family and missing my sons graduation would be the saddest moment for him and me.

Thanks for all of your help with the form and my question.

It's never lupus, but part 2 is always A.

Once you have applied for AP then it should be issued within 90 days; provided you do not have at least 180 days of overstay then you should not have any issues returning the US using it. If you leave the US before your AP is issued then your AoS application is abandoned and you will be stranded outside the US and would need to apply for an immigrant visa to be able to return (this would take ~8 - 10 months).

The EAD/AP takes 2-3 months to receive after filing, so you will have no problem needing to travel next summer. Your green card may even be approved by then and you will not even need to worry about the AP. Just do not leave without the AP or green card in hand first.
