Advice for ROC, N400 and ACD

One of my friend involved in a little argument with someone in nyc, he kicked that person and gave a him a little scratch nothing biggie(according to him lol) and the person involved called the cops and he was charged with a misdemenour assault charge.

1. Now he has an application like me, a ROC, since the case is pending and court date is not for another 2 months, would that effect his ROC application?

2. He already hired a lawyer and according to him it's a stupid case he could get an ACD for it, would that effect his naturalization application, if he applies when the ACD is over?

for naturalzation i have been reading stupid things like you need to wait 5 years after the incident, even after an ACD, wow is that the case or just need to wait for the ACD to over?

When did he apply for the ROC and when did the incident occur?

The I-751 instructions say:

"If you have ever been arrested or detained by any law enforcement officer for any reason, and charges were filed, or if charges were filed against you without an arrest, submit an original or court-certified copy of the complete arrest record and/or disposition for each incident (e.g., dismissal order, conviction record, or acquittal order)."

Hopefully he did not fail to disclose this charge on the I-751.

oh no there's no conviction, he applied some 6 months ago and this incident happened a month ago, and still on-going, so at the time he sent his application there was nothing on his record, and still nothing, there won't be any court for another month or two.
