I live in Boston, and sent my N-400 application based on a 3-year rule in July. I received only one letter, confirming they got my papers on July 11th. I haven't heard from them since. On September 13th I called the 1-800- # and put in a service request. They said I would receive a letter within 15 days, if not I should call back. I haven't received anything and did call back after 15 days, and they put in the 2nd service reequest and told me to wait till Oct 13th. I am getting really frustrated , as it's almost 3 months since USCiS received my application. A friend of mine filed a month ago and already had her fingerprints taken!! I did not get a biometrics appointment letter, I didn't get a letter I might not need biometrics ( some say they are valid for 15 months and I had mine last November ), nothing ! Is that normal ????

Call back and ask to speak to a tier 2 officer and ask if there was a biometrics letter sent out. It's either that one was sent out and it was lost in the mail, or your prints from last year are still valid and you'll get an interview letter eventually. There were quite a few people people who were not getting their biometrics letter recently. Maybe yours got caught up in whatever problem USCIS was having at that time.

I would make an infopass if I were you. I'm not saying don't call but the biometrics appointment is held by your local USCIS office. I would make an infopass they might be able to help you as well. Good luck.

I was in a similar situation with Boston... applied in April and still no biometrics notice in August. It took 4 service requests, a conversation with a tier 2 officer who also said we would just have to wait, and finally a letter to one of my Senators. I'm not positive that's what did it but about two weeks after contacting Elizabeth Warren we had a biometrics notice and then within a couple of days of the biometrics appt, an interview date.

I'd recommend calling USCIS earlier in the day whenever possible and documenting every conversation you have. If you're putting in service requests regarding your service requests, you're probably not going to get anywhere though. And if you decide to go the Senator route, Elizabeth Warren's website makes it very easy to send everything they need without making another phone call.

I contacted the National Customer Service Center with a service request twice and have had no communication until today, when I received a yellow letter telling me to bring my driver's license to my interview!

Agniecha78,

I submitted my wife's N400 in the beginning of August and we received her letter for biometrics last week for an appointment on October 17th, 2013, We a couple of weeks ago and I was worried that in moving and address changes that stuff would be lost in the mail. We filed change of address forms with the Post office and somehow the letter made it the same day I tried to call and find out what was going on. I think that you need to escalate your case and call them. When I called I left a message for a call back and the officer called back in like an hour, but they wouldn't help me because I called from work and my wife wasn't here and they wouldn't give me any information or help me at all and they made it quite clear. I hope that you have more luck after calling in.

Thanks everyone!

Still haven't heard anything and won't even bother calling them again. I made an INFOPASS appointment for Monday Oct 21.

I hope everything is resolved by now, and you finally got help.

After waiting for 7, yes... seven months and been given the run around by their "oh so helpful" customer service people, I finally got my date for biometrics, after I talked to a Tier 2 officer that actually "cared" to help me, instead of lying to me like the other one, saying that I missed my appoitment and the letter got lost in the mail, to request another date which I did, and another month and a half of nothing, so I called again to talk to another Tier 2 officer, that actually helped me.

Those CS reps that first answer do not help, just tell you what you see yourself on their website. If you really need help you need to go "higher" and have luck of course.

I heard of other applicants having problems when asking for the Tier 2 officers, do NOT bother asking for one you might be turn down, call the 1 800 number and say, you got disconected when being transfered, they do not ask you any questions, and conect you. That worked for me.

INFOPASS didn't really help me much. I drove 40 miles each way to find out that I'm still within a normal time range. What's taking so long to get a biometrics appointement ? Hard to say, every case is different I heard, there is a request for biometrics and I should be getting a letter within 30 days. I'm not holding my breath :)

I'm in the same situation. I actually got the same priority date as you and have no heard anything from them besides for a letter that I received Oct 2 to tell me to bring my driver license to my interview but it was not an interview notice. I am not sure if it is because I did fingerprinting and background check prior to getting this job in September of 2012.

I called USCIS twice and the first time they told me to keep waiting. Today I called and they filed something to my processing location to see why I have not received anything yet.

Anyone got any advice for us? We are stuck in the same boat.

I don't know what's with July 11th as priority date since I read a lot of posts saying they are having delays on their applications too (me as well). The only letter I got from them after the Notice of Receipt was the yellow letter (Pre-Interview Notice) saying that I need to bring all the passports I've used and my state ID.
One more month then I'll be beyond the normal processing time. This is giving me a lot of frustrations. Please keep posting all your updates so we can help out each other.

So in a couple of days it will be a month since I had my info pass appointement that basically didn't help at all. They told me I would be receiving something within those 30 days , if not I should come back again. I don't think so. I have no time or desire to drive 40 miles each way and kill 3 hours of my day for somebody to tell me nothing. This is some sort of joke !!! I think it's outrageous that after paying $700 for the application, the whole process is moving this slowly for some of us, and what's even worse nobody has any answers. All they tell you is what I see on the computer screen myself!
