I'm getting ready to file the 601 waiver for my fiancé in Juarez. I'm just wondering about how long this took for some people? And did anyone filing in Mexico have any problems or tough situations? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

We just got our NOA2 notice at the end of September. The NVC gave me my case number and told me that they transferred it to the consulate in Juarez. And I'm not in Mexico with him. I'm trying to figure out when and where the waiver comes into play? I'm so confused.

Michele, has your fiance over stayed a visa ? commited a crime in the USA? entered the states illegally? or have a illiness that can pose a threat to society? I-601 & I-601A is for those that have

been found inadmissible/banned and are asking for forgiveness and to be allowed to come back or be allowed to stay in the States as a resident.

If you fiance has never overstayed a Visa or entered illegally then the waiver shouldnt apply to your case.

longer than they are now, yes. you file the waiver after the interview, not before. at his interview they will tell him if needs a waiver, for what reason(s) he needs the waiver, and if he is even elgible to file the waiver. i think the wait time for processing the waiver is around 6 months.

When he goes to the interview they will ask him if, when, and how long he has been or was previously in the united states and he needs to answer honestly. then they will tell him whether he is eligible to file a waiver or not, and under what grounds he is inadmissable.

Do u have the appointment set up because they wouldn't let us even send anything to the lockbox untill we knew if we would qualify for the waiver because then it would be a waisted 585 dollars if we didnt qualify
