Hi there

I am a K1 holder with AOS pending and am completing the I-9 form using my EAD. My question is am I, at this stage:

a) a lawful permanent resident

or

b) An alien authorised to work until ......

I am confused as to which of these boxes to check....nearly all K-1ers must have done this, so would appreciate your comments!

Thanks

At this point, an alien authorized to work until... (expiration date of the EAD). When you receive your GC, you'll be required to update that with your employer so they'll know that your authorization will continue beyond that date.
