Ok here is the deal. My fiancee's interview is October 11th which is a friday and that following Monday is a holiday so if we was to wait in juarez for the k-1 visa to arrive once approved (God willing) thats a possible 4 or 5 more days we will be waiting there paying all that money for the hotel and just waiting in Juarez like idoits for it to arrive. I know it takes 2-4 business days to arrive if we choose a DHL location in Juarez. We dont really want to wait around there but we are scared if we choose a DHL location near her hometown in hidalgo that it wont arrive on time. I am in the military and will be on leave during all this but have to be back in the U.S and at work by Oct. 24th. i have researched that if having it mailed to another dhl location then it could take up to 2 or 3 weeks max but i have also seen people on VJ who have said they recieved it in like 5 days or a lil over a week. So basically i dont no what to do, time is running out and we want to plan it so we have the visa and we leave together to come to the states by the 24th. So would that be enough time to just pick a dhl in her hometown if the interview is oct.11 and i dont have to be back till oct 24th. will that be enough time for the visa to arrive? Or should we just play it safe and wait in juarez for it to come. But either way we have to go back to her hometown for a few family events and so she can pack. Advice please???

Thanks in advance

It should be ample time but of course you never know. Elizabeth had her interview in Ciudad Juarez on 8/2/13 (Friday) and she selected a DHL office close to her home in Mexico City. She flew back to Mexico City Friday afternoon. The DHL package arrived on Wednesday 8/7/13 so it was fast. You can also track the DHL package online.

I had same issue back in May. My original choice was Merida, and had wanted to switch to juarez. They advised me that such a switch so close to the interview date could delay the package for up to 2 weeks or more.

Being this close to the interview, it may behoove you to wait in Juarez until the visa shows. I was fortunate to fly back with my stepdaughter and was glad i did. the wait in immigration in philly was 4 hours and since she spoke little english, there's no way she would have made it alone. My guess would be if you changed it to her home address, you def run the risk of it not arriving in time before you have to be back at work.

Let me know if i can be of any further help.

I had the interview, well my wife on thursday... last week and they waybill says picked up today at 10 am processed at juarez at 3pm. I called dhl in mexico and they say after its picked up the next day its at the office you choose and if you choose i guess its the same day but it all depends on how long it takes the consulate to give it to dhl there was a lady that had it on wednesday and by friday it was already in san luis potosi

Cool i appreciate it that man. Makes me feel a whole lot better. We were just gonna wait in juarez which would have sucked with the interview being this friday and monday is a holiday so we wouldnt get the visa untill at the earliest that following tuesday. Thats 4 more days or more just waiting around in juarez and spending more and more money. I think i feel confident now that if we just went back to her hometown in hidalgo after interview it will be at the dhl before i have to be back to work. Im praying anyways!!! Lol thanks man
