I meant to add that he is retired and is 79 years old but makes well over the required amount. Will his age be a factor?

Hi there

I just had my interview last week and was asked to return to submit a new sponsor (I-134) as my current sponsor's last year gross (according to them) is not enough. So the CO asked me to get a new sponsor (my father in law this time) and i got the approval after a week of resubmission.

My Advise - if your sponsor's income isnt enough, find a new sponsor and prepare the following:

New I-134

Sponsors passport copy

Sponsors's last 3 years tax and w2

Current pay slip (bring at least the last 3 months)

hope this helps!

I came across this post of yours many of times and wanted to comment each time but never did, now that my approved I-129F is at the consulate in Abu Dhabi I will be asking you questions periodically if that's okay with you;

Your co-sponsors income wasn't enough? How much was his or her's income against the poverty guidelines? Was he/she below or slightly above the 100-125% requirement?

My dad's income is approximately $12,000-$14,000 over the poverty guideline. Do you think that's acceptable? Also, he is 79 and retired, I'm 43 and collect a pension and currently just work part time until I get a job offer for full time work.. Another big also, I only got to physically meet my fiancee one time for 12 days because of my busy schedule with my young children and also a hard time to take off from my job, even though it's currently only part time. How is the consulate in Abu Dhabi?
