Hi there,

My mom has her interview in Cd. Juarez on November 12th, and many people we've asked said she needs to enter by land the first time she comes to the U.S. She'd rather go back to Mexico City, and make arrangements for my little brother who is staying. Then she wants to fly out here to visit me for Christmas, is this possible?

Also, what happens after the interview once she's approved? Will she get approved the same day? Can she go home after the interview and paid for DHL to deliver the visa in Mexico City? Everything is in order, she's never been in the U.S., and we have filed and paid for everything they've asked.

Thank you, thank you!

hi

yes, she will have 6 months to enter the country, she will have a stamp with a date on it, she must enter the country before the date expires

she can enter by border or by plane, as long as she does customs

As the above poster said, your mom can fly over. There's no reason she can't go back to Mexico City after interview.

As part of process with ASC, you can select the DHL where the passport is sent to. Depending on time, etc, it's there within a week. USCIS pays for the DHL fee, so they won't charge her extra to have it sent to where she lives.
