Hi There,

I am waiting for my wife to have the Visa after the AP is completed in Bangladesh. It has been more than 3.5 months from her interview and we are still waiting for the visa. This has reached to the frustration level at our end and we are having couple of questions at our mind.

Who do the Embassy ppl contact to? The applicant or the beneficiary?

How do they contact?

How many times they will try to contact once the AP is over?

What any of us missed the 1st try?

Do they change the Visa Status in CEAC site before they contact for Visa issuance or after?

please advise us with the above questions.

We will highly appreciate your response.

Thank you.

Dear Mr Shahriar87,

You are in AP right now. Usually based on the papers you submitted if there are some additional checks seem to be required, your visa may go through this waiting period when these additional checks are performed. There is no reason for you to lose hope or get frustrated. The additional check can mean verification at local embassy (Bangladesh) to check by DOHS at Washington. You will never know what it is and exactly how long you will be waiting.

Off possible try to call or email the embassy once a week to get an update. That way even if embassy misses the petitioner all will be in safe side. By the way, AP is pretty standard for all males (very few exceptions these days) and selectively some females in Bangladesh. So don't worry and hope all will be fine.

Good luck and best wishes for you two.

Same to me six month to go still pending !!!!!

Hello Mr. Abdus Salam,

I hope you are doing great. You replied in one my forum post about the Administrative Processing for my wife's visa. In that forum, you wrote your case is under AP for 6 months and still haven't get any reply from the Embassy. I just want an update about any progress in your case? Did you or your beneficiary got the VISA by now? Please advise. My case is on the 5th month of AP and I just cant help myself from being more and more worried.

I will appreciate your case update. Thank you.

Shahriar

Administrative Processing that means they still reviewing your case or its under investigation. Nobody can tell about the time limit. They said its case to case basis and it also depend if the CO are not that busy with other cases. So there's no definite # days. And all u can do is be patient and wait. AP is kinda frustrating but nothing we can do. Good Luck to your case. Hope your visa will be release soon.

Hello,

My wife's Administrative processings took exactly 5 months. But in the end she is here with me now. Sometimes it is also because of some further background check. So no matter how long it takes it will end and happiness will be the end result for sure. So have patience and keep checking the status. I wish you all the best. :)

My wife and daughter case is on AP hold since October 2013. I have been contacting congressman, senators but no help. It has been 4 an half months but this case is on hold still.

I have contacted NVC and ask them why embassy didnt response even my lawyer and i massage them few times, NVC send my massage to supervisor take a look on my family case and i received response from embassy after 5 days below.

We understand that you would like an update on ______ visa application. Our colleagues in the National Visa Center tell us that you have tried to contact us before but we have no record of ever receiving any correspondence from you. If you would like to reach us, you may do so through our website at http://islamabad.use...-inquiries.html. _______ case is still refused under Section 221g pending the results of mandatory administrative processing. Administrative processing often only lasts about 90 days; unfortunately, in some instances it can take longer. We will certainly let you and ______ know when we are able to move forward with her case.

Sincerely,

Consular Section

U.S. Embassy Islamabad
