My fiance is supposed to call on Oct 23rd. Can someone advise the most likely scenario? She needs to take time off work and I wanted to know when they would most likely ask her to come back and how much time it will take to finish the medical. Thanks!

Two possibilities - negative, no TB... get the vaccinations and move on. + positive, have to do 6 months of treatments at SLEC, then after that is complete pay (and complete) for a new medical and move on.

Thanks Hank but I meant assuming its Negative, what exactly does she need to do and the timing. If she has to call on Oct 23rd at 9am and results are negative, can she go and complete everything on the 23rd? What is the most likely schedule? I'm trying to find out exactly what day(s) she needs to take off work; assuming the most likely scenario.

OK. Your fiancee calls, the results are negative, they will tell her to come back into SLEC at a certain date & time to get her vaccinations, after that she will leave SLEC .... next the interview.

Hi Travelpro, Hank is correct. Here's some detailed info, my fiance just finished her 2 month wait last Wednesday. When she called them that day, they pretty much told her it was negative and scheduled her to go to St Luke's today. She messaged me saying she will get immunization shots and take a pregnancy test. When she goes back tomorrow they will schedule her embassy interview. It does take two days. Hope this helps

Thank you Lee. That is exactly what I was looking for. I wondered if she needs to take Oct 23rd off work but sounds like she just needs to call on that day and finish the medical another day. Much appreciated!!!

One last thing Travelpro, when St Luke's does schedule her to come in, make sure she brings the print out of her initial scheduled interview at the US Embassy in Manila. They asked my fiance for this in order to schedule her embassy interview. Not sure if this is a new thing or not. No big deal if she doesn't have it, she'll just have to schedule the interview herself. From talks on VJ in September, I thought the embassy would be booked until late October, but they scheduled her for this week as they were openings :-)

I am going through the same thing.

She has to go back Nov 27 for the results.

My question is this, does SLEC contact the embassy to set up the K-1 interview or do I set the interview date up.

Man it killed me to have to cancell our 10/28 appointment date.

SLEC will contact the embassy to reschedule, but others have done it themselves as the results date got close... sort of gambling there.

For future fiance's who have to take the Sputum test, we got the results over the phone. She gave them her PDS number and they verified the results were negative. Also she was told to call at 11:30am but nobody answered the phone until 11:50am.

Now I'm off to Manila in 2 weeks to meet her for the interview.

hi she needs to call on the date that is written on the paper given to her when she had her pulmonary interview. On that paper is the date and day that she eeds to call. I believe she will be asked to go back to st lukes that day also , the nurse informed me that it will be a (1) day process. About scheduling the interview we can set our own interview whatever is the earliest date.
