Finger printing is done before the interview.

If denied, you will be informed right away. You will be given a paper that says why your visa is denied.

Everyone is fingerprinted before the interview. They check to see if you have used other names or applied for other visas. If you fail the interview part they will tell you right away. IF you pass the interview and end up in AP and fail that you will be told later.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
