petitioner is currently unemployed and i will have my visa interview in the coming weeks..

my question is do i need to have a co-sponsor signed affidavit of support to be presented on my interview day? my petitioner's income when we submitted our i-864 AOS was well above the poverty line so i was not required to have a co-sponsor but that was 3yrs ago. but now since my petitioner lost his job a few weeks back will i be required to have a co-sponsor AOS on the day of my interview? need your opinions badly. thanks in advance

The consul will surely ask for the petitioner's latest (2012) ITR and W2 to show current income.

During the interview, if asked what line of work is the petitioner into. What would you say?

Remember, we MUST, by all means, say the truth (as we are under oath). So bottom line is, go find a joint sponsor NOW.

You must present the petitioner's and joint sponsor's NEW i864/i864a (with original signatures), latest ITR and W2 during the interview.

well, if ask i definitely will tell the truth. but im quite in a pickle here.. actually, my petitioner had a mild stroke about two weeks ago, the same reason why she lost her job, although she's ok now she could barely move her hands much more accomplish the entire i-864. but she was able to put her signature on the AOS, though her penmanship is not like the usual, will this present a problem during my interview as the consul may notice a difference in hand writing? in addition, i cant remember what my petitioner wrote on the previous AOS, the one we submitted with nvc and we dont have a copy of the original as well. i might put in information different to the one she originally did. if i do, will this be a problem? my aunt and two cousins are ready to be my joint sponsor, dunno if one will suffice but to be sure i'll have them all signas my joint sponsor, and let the embassy decide which will suffice. will all of them accomplish the same i-864a form? thank u apple21 for all the help

As long as she signs it, no problem. You can explain the "difference" in penmanship during the interview.

Just fill in the AOS as accurately as you could.

I'm no expert in the AOS laughing.gif ... but the instructions are here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

apple21 i have a few more questions.

1. my petitioner's household size changed, bcoz before she had a stroke she lives with my brother and his 3 kids. prior to her stroke my brother moved to cali, while my mom (petitioner) moved to my aunt's house (intended joint sponsor) who also happens to have 2 daughters, after she had the stroke.

2. how do u think should i accomplish the i864 and i864a in the situation above?

3. since my aunt is the joint sponsor, basically she will be doing the i864a right? what about her 2 daughters? will they accomplish the same form i864a since they are household members of the joint sponsor?

pls pls enlighten me
