Hi all its me again, It has been almost 2 years since I have filed for the I 130 Petition. My husband was deported in May of 2012 for overstaying in the U.S. but still no response. I have had alot of info pass appointments and wrote letters to supervisors but still no response. I don't know what to do? Everytime I contact someone they would say it is still pending. The petition was sent back 2 months later after filing it on December 12, 2011 to Detroit office. Then I had an interview with an officer on October 2, 2012 and gave them all the info they needed and was told that I will be contacted soon. How long does the petition last for approval or does it expire and that would mean I have to file another one. PLZZZZZZZZZZ Help.

Well it's common for I-130 and I-129F petitions for Yemen beneficiaries to take 2-3 years to approve. As I've found, there is no real and logical reason for USCIS to do this, but I am guessing they are on orders from the State Department and DHS to put these cases on the back burner. This is just our cross to bear, so to speak. Get in contact with your congressman's or senator's offices. They can at least help you make inquiries on your case. I'm sorry, I know it's tough but all of us are going through it.

Can I ask what have you done in the last year as far as contacts? Congressman, Ombudsman? INFOPASS, Service request?

I mean a year? And you sure no RFE has come and address with them is all up to date. I know Yemen waits along time 8 months to a year ) for interviews but wow almost 2 years something can't be right.

Also you filed in 2011 your husband deported in 2012, so you must have filed a AOS (adjustment of Status since he was here?
