I have and you know what the scary part about that is? There is quite a few folks out there that feel the same way. It's what got Jordan Davis killed. That's why Mr. Dunn didn't even bother to call the police when he lobbed 8-9 shots into a car full of teenagers.

I guess as a black man, it just astounds me that GZ action's are completely ignored by the folks that would have reacted the same way TM did if the situation was upon them. Gary has said repeatedly he would pull his gun and shoot someone if he felt the slightest bit threatened, even going as far as to say if a black man walked up to him at a gas station, he would put his gun in his face and ask can I help you, but it's TM's fault because he wasn't carrying a gun and died fighting a man who did. Slim carries an AK-47 around in his jeep, cusses out cops, and is ready for walking dead status, but found GZ's actions completely harmless. NB has chastised a man who had a gun and didn't shoot a guy who shot him with pellets, saying he should have blown him away, but seems to have completely blocked out the first 6 minutes of the encounter leading up to the assault.

The GZ discussion brought out the worst in a lot of people. There were TM supporters who pretty much took the stance that, if you're a real man, you never lose a fight. , If a real man encounters somebody with a gun, then they would just disarm the person and then beat them up with their massive #######. But again, most importantly, a real man never loses a fight. Granted, those weren't the exact words used, but still....

While some GZ supporters were rooting for a shootout on every corner, there were an equal number of TM supporters rooting for all disagreement to be settled in no holds barred cage matches.

There was enough stupidity on both sides.

My posts, however, were always well thought out and rational.

I know there are a lot of good folks out there. It's just when a white person is killed by a black person, they get the book thrown at them. Yet folks are like, where's Al and Jesse? Why don't they get charged with a hate crime? Like life without the possibility of parole isn't good enough. But when it's the opposite and the killer gets 2 years or less(we're talking not a full calendar year, more like 11 months) it's he was a thug or he had to do something to deserve his death. Just hits close to home for me.

I find the old white men on this forum far more frightening to me than you are.

You scare me to death, with your GTA attitude, I'm trying to stay on your good side.innocent.gif

My stance was, is and always will be to take the high road. Had GZ just talked to the dude from the start, maybe by identifying himself, letting the cops do their job, or best yet, let the dude go home since no crime was being committed, this could have been averted.

That was kind of my opinion in the James Byrd incident. After the murder, there were a lot of complaints because Texas didn't have hate crime laws. But I remember thinking: What does it matter? This is Texas, if you kill somebody, we'll kill you back.

Granted, I know one of the guys only got life, but two out of three ain't bad.

Agreed. The whole thing was a mess. My opinion was GZ was innocent (self-defense) but, if he had gotten manslaughter because of his actions leading up to the confrontation, I wouldn't have thought it was unjust.

Yeah, Mr. Byrd got justice in my eyes. It's one of the few times that happens and justice is served.

I think that self defense is feasible when one is in fear for their life. And given the situation, GZ was in fear for his life. I just felt like how could you claim SD when you did everything in your power to force a confrontation out of someone, and when it doesn't go your way, you kill them.

Stop biting. It's like you can't help yourself. Yeah maybe I'll have the same conversation I've had with the NB like thousands of times now.

For real I think Marvin has an advanced warning system that goes off any time someone mentions GZ or TM on here.

Actually this time I think he brought up GZ first.

It does seem pointless. I genuinely like Ol Marvin

In fact I like almost everyone here with the exception of one or two that are just nasty

and do nothing but post personal attacks and one that is just stupid. That is the truth

But we have had this same exact debate a zillion times

Looks like he would have come around by now doesn't it

Oh well we can just agree to disagree
