I got my police certificate in Beijing, China

I have a question about the date. I went to Beijing Fangzheng Notary Public Office. It is where foreigners here can obtain their police certicate. Anyway, I went there on August 1, 2013.. But the date on my police certificate says:

"This is to certify that (My complete name) had no criminal record during her period of residence in Beijing from Sept. 3, 2012 to July 23,2013"

So, that means that I am only cleared until July 23, 2013. I am afraid the consul might look for the latest date until before my interview, maybe.

Do I need to get another one that will state the current date?

Thank you for all your answers. I really appreciate it.

I had a similar thing happen in Australia when registering my de facto relationship with the Department of Births, Deaths, and Marriages. They told me that they could only go up to the date that had been positively recorded in the records - which was seven days prior to the date I actually was filing the form. So there was a week's gap in the dates.

It didn't matter in my case - I would not think it would matter in yours.

There just wasn't any way to get a certificate that matched the actual date - because there was always a week or so time lag.

I think u need to get that certificate later than sooner, so it's closer to your interview, i'm not sure, but i think that would be the best, that's what i am doing. But one question, where did u live before that? Maybe if u lived somewhere else before that , you need to get a certificate from there aswell?! Let me show you :

"Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for 6 months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)"

Thak you Sukie. I hope it won't matter in my case either because I have no plan to get a new one.

I was in Thailand for 6 months Anjans. I've already asked if I need that police certificate in Thailand. One of the members here said, there's no need. Been in China for more than 2 years already.

Do you have the same case?

No i don't have the same case feinbergabia, but i do know what it says in the text that i just showed you, it says all other countries you've lived in for 6 months or more, since you have lived in Thailand for 6 months, if i were you, i would get that one aswell. It's better to be safe than sorry, but of course. I wanna do everything that it says, and more, LOL, just to be on the safe side. Good luck to you
