We wanted to get married earlier than we did, but we had to wait for the visa (we didn't like being apart.).. But it did give me a great excuse to have a small wedding! It was tiny and we loved it.. His mom didn't, and i think my mom wished it was bigger, but I really enjoyed it.. and he did too.. My whole family came, his family came, and we 2 friends of ours (we were living in their basement at the time..) And it was nice and small.. hard to find a caterer.. but oh well.. :)

we had a small wedding up in Canada so we could start the visa process but I had always wanted a small wedding....

if we had gotten married in the United States, I probably would have had a big wedding, even if I didn't want one :P.... his sister would have planned the whole thing...:P I probably wouldn't have had any say in how I wanted things done

It was completely different than what we wanted to do, starting with the fact that we first had planned to live in Brasil.

If we want to be together we HAVE to be married. So it isn't as if we have a choice really. There isn't such thing as a "co-habiting visa" after all..... :P

If there were a co-habitation visa, there would be a lot less denials! :D

Ours was earlier...and only the location was different. I would have wanted it in the states, ideally, but the size was just right.

Haven't had it yet... but I know the answers..

the main thing is I have to save for the wedding as the Interview travel and Flight here will kill my savings.. and with only roughly 2 months... to save...the wedding will be smaller...much smaller.. but we will be more concerned with how we feel then the guest.... So she will have the gown of her choice and I'll have a tux ...The place is free to me... My Sister is paying for the catering as a Wedding gift.... So we should still be able to have a nice..small beautiful wedding....But sooner then we want..

But I'm more then happy .....

Hmmm, after all this K-1 process and all its expenses, I am not sure how our wedding is going to be. But I already know it's going to be very small and familiar, nothing big.

In the beginning, we thought about doing it on the Netherlands because of his family but since this immigration process is so complicated and he will move here, we changed our plans to marry here to be sure everything was OK.

Let's see how it goes, interview is this month...

sometimes, maybe it's a blessing then :)

It is especially true for us.

My wife does not like big wedding at all. Her sister's wedding was huge and she remembered that it was like organizing for a big show. The fact that I live on the other side of the planet gave her excuse to have small wedding.

We got married 1 day after her birthday. She wanted to have it on her birthday, but it was weekday. We agreed to have it the next day so people can come to our wedding. It was a small wedding with 100 people.

We had wanted to do it as soon as I got here...but we have to put up with 72 hours waiting time from filing of marriage license and then who will do it. We are just so glad we were able to find a Minister to solemnize our wedding just the day before we got married. We have to get married as soon as possible not only because my daughter is age-ing out and immigration clock is running out on her but because we wanted to. It was a simple but emotional wedding...with my daughters as witnesses. I brought my wedding dress all the way from the Philippines. It is just the matter of when to do it. It is just there ready for the occasion. Both of us are very happy. Anyways, it was a long overdue wedding...if things had gone smoother, we would have been wed earlier. We are just glad we are done with it. We are now happily married.
