good morning everyone.

I am a LPR and petitioning my wife from the philippines. We are on DS230 part of the process and NVC sent an email to me stating that my wife needs to submit DS260 ( online application). this replaces the conventional DS230 form. when I checked how to complete DS260, there is a list of countries that supports the online DS260, Philippines is not listed, What should we do, conventional ds230 or continue with DS260 online application?

another situation is, my wife's passport was issued before we got married, she is using her maiden name on it. we submitted all application documents with her married name, any concerns or problem that may arise on it?

The DS230 is already obsolete.

She must fill out the DS260 online: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

The civil documents must be mailed to NVC via snail mail/courier. Don't forget to attach the IV cover sheet.

She should have renewed her passport into her married name since she used her married name on the forms. I'm not sure if it's going to be an issue, better call NVC directly. smile.png

just take your nso marriage cert, plus the NBI with the married last name and any other ID, showing the married last name and change the passport to the married last name, its a few hundred peso, more or less , its on the website.

same with me... i used my married name in i 130 application. but then my passport is still my maiden name... i was advised by our lawyer to renew and change to my married name... and checked with nvc also, my name there will still be my maiden name unless i emailed them a copy of my new passport... waiting for my new passport

case completed via phonecall: 17 april 2014
