Hello Guys,

I got the information from USCIS today that the I130 petition I filed for my wife got approved today only (NOA2 Approval) and I would be receiving the formal confirmation via mail soon.

I know that in the next stage, my wife's application would be handed over to NVC who would contact me but I am not sure as to what are the exact steps in this 2nd stage.

I am sure some of you in this forum have been in a similar situation not so long ago, so if any of you can just give an approximate sequence of events with regard to the NVC processes following the NOA2 then it would be really helpful for me to plan accordingly.

Thank you in advance!

Depending on how long it takes USCIS to send your case to NVC ( by regular mail) USCIS should let you know that they shipped it. NVC will get it and assign it a new case number then scan and send everything electronically to the Embassy. I had to call NVC to see if they had received the case ( about a week after USCIS told me they sent it) I got the new case number then I had to call them again to fill out documents for the embassy ( for an I129F) to get the invoice number and beneficiary number. I believe the events are similar for fiancé and spouse visas. After you have the NVC case number you can check your status online at the CEAC website. Mine said READY which means it is ready for the interview phase shortly after that ( about a week? ) we got the notification for the interview. This was on Sept 23 and his interview is Oct 8 but it could be different depending on the embassy. Anyway, I hope this helps!!! Good Luck!!!smile.png

Please go through this link below. I did apply I-130 for wife who is from India on Sep 3rd, 2013 and got I-130 approved email on Sep 27th, 2013 and got the hardcopy of the approval notice yesterday. Still waiting for NVC to receive the case. I hope VISA bulletin stays current for my PD for the next two months since NVC will take their time to assign a case number, process the case and send it to consulate for interview. Your PD has to be current for NVC to process your case and also while scheduling an interview at the consulate.
