Am I Going Crazy?

So ever since we got my husband's CR1 interview date with the embassy at Kingston, Jamaica, I have been a nervous wreck. And, it's not until November 26th. Here is our story. We met in April of 2011, I proposed (lol) in December 2011, we got married in February 2012, and have been together ever since. We didn't file our I130 petition until August 2012 and didn't get our Noa1 until December 5th. So here is my fear:

- we've never lived together

- we don't own anything together

- we have no joint banking account

However, I have been to see him 14 times, I have wracked up thousands of dollars in phone bills cuz we talk 5 or 6 times a day, I've sent money to his bank account twice and we have tons of pictures. IS THIS ENOUGH TO PROVE A BONAFIDE MARRIAGE?

My husband knows the answers to all the pertinent questions like when did we meet, what I do for work, what do I like to do for fun, when was my last visit, where and how did we meet, etc. But I am freaking out!!! Seriously I have consumed numerous glasses of wine and am driving everyone crazy.

Someone please just tell me I'm going to be OK!

BethAnn

imo, u are ok, but i think showing you've sent money isn't a good idea, the CO might misinterprete that.

he might be asked about the proposal, so he much show even though you proposed, he's very much in love and committed to the relationship, not just you, i assume u do most of the calling as well. a friend said he showed emails wife sent to him and he was asked to go and bring mails from him to wife. so your husband should be active too, even if not calls because they are expensive, mails/emails should be there and show at interview.

Good point about the money I wasn't sure about that. Actually he does most of the calling cuz he doesn't want me to run up my phone bill. We exchange photos and texts a lot on Viber but no idea how to capture it. No emails cuz my husband is illiterate.

to save callin costs u can consider majic jack (unfortunately saving records is complicated), but with skype u can have records and u save too, smartphones skype so one can be mobile.

Beth I wonder if its a good idea for U to be with him at interview

U cant transfer all that negative vibe to him, especially the fact

he cannot read, do not drink wine either of U B4 interview.

A bonafide marriage will be obvious, don't try to overdo things,

if U ever sent him card for Bday or Xmas snail-mail & have

the posted envelope add it, sending money once is not a sign of

U being duped, record of phone calls, pictures & go into an

internet store where U can get help printing viper.

If u have kids he should know their names, also mil & fil

He cannot know all aspect of your life the both of U live in

separate countries The COs are aware of Jamaican customs

they may ask about what U like to do, where did he propose,

what attracted him to you, which should ne easy. I say calm

down sis and tell him to be upfront he cant read , so the expectations

of texts and emails R minimal. & quit drinking all that wine.

Go to Kingston reviews and read up

Speaking of proving communications on Viber - google how to make screenshots. I'm on Whatsapp with my husband and i've learned to make screenshots with my phone so i just put them into a word document (selection showing date stamps and some innocent chit chat) which i will print for the interview.

I'm the beneficiary.

We use Viber for messaging sometimes (the call quality is just horrible).

Go to settings and you will find "Email message history" option there.

Or just take screenshots like Hollyday said :) That's what I did for Skype, Whatsapp and Facebook.

Beth, dont worry too much, just be honest and confident and relax and well prepared at the interview, everything will be just fine, I have a friend who met online, they only met once then got married, they had never lived together or met each other before the guy came to Indonesia to marry the girl. they applied for CR1 and got approved, the couple has been living together in 4yrs now, I can say that you have alot more evidences to prove a bonafide relationship than my friend, Im positive that everything will be fine with your husband Interview and he will get the visa.

Good Luck !!

Aside using Skype as free-video calls, you can also have a subscription to call landlines or mobiles. My fiance can't call me on my cellphone because he's not allow since only he uses work's cellphone. That's why I have a subscription (unlimited) on Skype to call him while is not on his laptop for video calls. The good thing, you can have records of your calls and able to call up to 6 hours each day. It saved a lot money. I paid US $ 6 every month. Good luck for the interview.

They look for age difference.... Weight disparagement between the 2. If the petitioner is female and well off financially and the beneficiary a poor man that's a major red flag.
