Hi everyone,I am the USC while my fiancee is a nigerian, she is so worried abt our age diff, she is 6 years older than me, and I love her so much, am nt a nigerian at all,I was also born in africa before I travelled and bcame USC, pls is the 6years a big problem cos I cant bear seeing her unhappy and worried.pls wot shud I tell her?. Although 6 years is smallish by US standard it is very against Nigerian custom. You will have to provide more proof that your relationship is honest than those that are in a male older couple.

I don't think 6 years is that big of a deal in Nigeria. The big deal with the age thing is the issue with a woman being able to have a child, but seriously from what the CO's see coming out of Nigeria up to 30 year age difference, I don't think 6 would be that big of a deal. Tell her to relax. I mean you should be ready to address it if it comes up, but in my opinion 6 years it not too strange. Plus you guys are both African. Unfortunately if she was the USC and you were the Nigerian it might be a bigger deal. Because they see young Nigerian men as the "predators" of older USC women in regards to immigration.

You should be just fine! I am 21 years older than my husband and it wasn't an issue! Just the same as everyone else, be very prepared and have all of your proof together!!!!
