I received this email from the Embassy today:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email message.

Your fiancé’s visa is currently with the officer, it will be printed today.

Regards,

Consular Staff

The sad part is I'm too afraid to believe it actually will be. Beaten dog syndrome I think. I will wag my tail but the rest of me is cowering. But still I will say alhamdulellah.

Well, it's a great email to get and insha'Allah it WILL be printed today and you will have the sweetest of reunions so very soon.

We're all here praying and waiting with you. (F)

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

According to a hadith in Abu Dawud, when one feels helpless regarindg a matter, they should say:

Hasbiya 'Lllahu wa ni'ma 'l-wakil(u) - God is my sufficiency, and how perfect a benefactor (is He).

Also, something secular pops into my mind here - The Rose, by Bette Midler

When the night has been too lonely

and the road has been too long

and you think that love is only

for the lucky and the strong

Just remember in the winterfar beneath the bitter snows

lies the seed

that with the sun's love

in the spring

becomes the rose

Thanks, Rahma, for the words. I'm too emotional to really say much more.

Wave "hi" to Mohammed. I know he's going to be reading here today. (Hi, Honey (L) )

Again... I'm not banking on anything until he tells me he actually has it in his hand.
