Hello forum,

I am an American citizen, and my wife is Mexican. When we entered the U.S. together several months ago, she entered on a tourist visa. At the time, we had only planned to visit for a few months, but we have decided to stay and are applying for her AOS.

Along with the I-130 and I-485, should I include a letter explaining that my wife did not intend to immigrate at the time when she entered the country? If so, should I give some details about what our plans were, and why we changed them?

Thanks!

I would NOT do that. That just might cause problems in the processing from some paper pusher deciding to ask questions better left for the interview. Be prepared at the interview to explain that one, if it even comes up.
