Good Day VJ,

I had my interview this morning.. everything went well.. is just that CO handed me form 221g - "Need petitioner's court certified divorce paperwork"

I was given instructions on Aramex.. done finger printing ..

I still have my passport with me, CO said they won't keep the passport since I still have pending requirement.

Need your inputs pls.. thank you.

You need to supply the consulate with what they requested. Follow their instructions on doing so.

And I agree with this as well. It seems a simple thing to supply.

But, I do see a mistake on the Goverments end by not issueing a RFE before the issuance of the NOA2 so the OP could be for-warned of the proper Document.

The OP has no RFE's in their time-line and should had been made aware before the interview with a Request for Evidence.

As Jay-Kay said: Provide the Court Certified Stamped with Official Seal from the Courthouse and Clerk's Initials and your fine. (All Pages)

I do not believe this Document must be a Original and a copy is fine.

Congrats OP

If someone disagrees say now for the OP's benefit.

THank you for all your inputs.. just a bit worried.. I agree with you Tim/Mav.. we don't have any RFE.. same copy was sent to USCIS n the original I-129f packet. If we knew we need the certified true copy I should have asked my fiance in advance to accomplish. CO said it will be quick once i submitted the required docs..I just hope that my visa will get approved once the docs are submitted. Thank you again.

Oh, so the petition included a copy of the divorce decree and the consulate wants to see the original? Originals of all documents submitted should be taken to interviews, as they can ask to see the original at any time. The copy was all that was required with the I-129F, so that is why no RFE.

Yes, it was included. I got it, that is why we didn't have RFE. In my case, is it feasible to get approval? i hope so.. m still worried. thank you.

I have yet to attend my interview with the US Consulate in Singapore, and am rather surprised by this reason for a 221(g). I only have a copy of my fiancé's divorce decree with me right now. Would that suffice? To the OP, did you provide them with a copy at the interview?

Hi Hobbit. It is written in from 221(g) - " Need petitioner's court certified divorce paperwork ". THis is the exact wordings from the CO. What I have was the copy of my Fiance divorce decree but not certified. My fiance got the certified true copy with the stamp from the courthouse yesterday, on its way to SG.

You can check yours maybe you got the certified one. All the best.

to note.. yes i did provide them a copy ( not certified ) however as per the CO, they need certified true copy with a stamp. If you do not have, you can ask your Fiance to accomplish one. He/SHe can get it same day, it will take maybe 30mins to get it done and send it via fedex right away. ( express mail will take 2 days )

I'm still confused. So is my photocopy of the stamped copy of his divorce decree counted as a certified true copy? According to the instructions sent by the consulate, it seems that the marriage certificates and divorce decrees they are asking for, are the beneficiary's, not the petitioner's.

My fiancé is currently with me in Singapore until October 31st, and my interview is scheduled for the 23rd. I have no idea how to get around this 'true certified copy' requirement, and I'm really worried.

I was not aware that CO will ask for a Court Certified Stamped with Official Seal from the Courthouse and Clerk's Initials. THe copy that I have is as well a copy of a stamped docs.. still they would ask for the certified one. I am not sure if it will make a difference having your fiance with you on time of interview, i hope they will accept what you have.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm glad I'm finding out about this now, rather than later. So, what happens to your visa application now? Do you courier the certified copy to the Consulate? Did they say they would process your visa right after receiving the missing docs? We have already booked my flight out for the 9th of November so I wouldn't want to find myself in any delayed situation either.

CO said i would need to send it via Aramex courier. He asked me to register right away after he has taken finger printing. I would guess so, because he said it will be quick. I just hope indirectly he is telling me my visa approved.

You still have ample time to accomplish the certified true copy. Best of luck to you and your fiance.
