Proof of Domicile... my list. Any suggestions?

I'm applying at the Seoul consulate, which I've heard isn't super strict on this requirement, but much better safe than sorry. Here's my list... do you think it'll cut it? Any other suggestions? I emailed an international moving company for a quote but never received one. I am also a registered voter but the registration is for a previous address. Is it better to just not include that?

Evidence of US Domicile:

-Bank Statement from a US bank in my name.

-Proof of doing a credit card repayment program for US accounts.

-Proof of paying US student loans.

-Professional Teaching Certification in the state of West Virginia (maintained since 2009).

-Rental agreement for US address (between us and my father).

-Job applications and inquiries regarding work in West Virginia Schools.

-E-mail inquiries to the state BOE regarding the immigrant’s teaching certification in West Virginia.

-Letter from my father stating that we will re-establish our residency at our shared address.

-Letter of resignation for my current workplace in South Korea.

-Proof of multiple bank transfers made to the US.

-Proof of filing US taxes while living abroad.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you have everything covered. I prepared most of what you had and letter stating my intent to re-establish, but I was never asked for any documentation. The Filipino CO simply asked if I intended to return with them. Good luck!

I don't have my physical drivers license anymore :/ it got lost and I haven't had it replaced yet. My voter's registration is at a different address than the one I'm claiming as domicile, but it's in the same state. Should I include it anyway or no?

I'm not sure. I used mine that wasn't at the same address. I just think they're worried about your ties when it comes to domicile. They realize people move... :)

My voter's registration was also at a difference address and I was intending to use it but they didn't ask me for it.

Take it just in case, even if it's not at your address but explain why it's at a different address if they ask...?

Hi,

Please let us know if you get approved for VISA. My wife recently had her final interview in Seoul for CR1 and was denied because of

1) No proof of income (Did not file my earned income to U.S. and

2) domicile/job offer in U.S.

I was not present with my wife since it wasn't mandatory and I had to take care of my baby so I could not ask specifically if they wanted domicile evidence AND job offer or domicile evidence OR job offer.

If what you provide to them is only evidence of domicile without a job offer, I would really appreciate knowing if they approved you a visa. I am struggling trying to find a job from Korea and that is not an easy task.

Hi markusk. I'm sorry the visa was denied. I'm not an expert but I have seen many people on this website get approved without a job offer from home. I think they might have been saying that you guys need to prove domicile or show a job offer in the US. The proof of income is a pretty big one though. I have lived abroad for a few years but still had to file all my US taxes and have included all of that along with a copy of my job contract to prove my income. We also have a co-sponsor in the US.

Are you allowed to re-file, or do you just have to submit the additional proof? From the reviews I've read here, they often allow you time to submit additional proof first.

We interview on Thursday, so I will let you know how it goes.
