Hello Everyone,

while I have just now joined the site, I have been browsing it for the last couple months as I have been educating myself on visa processes-- thanks for all the freely shared information and experience.

I filed an I-130 to request a cr-1 visa for my husband, a Venezuelan, in August. Since then, as I wait, I have been trying to get feady for the next step (whenever that may come) by preparng for the paperwork that I will need to submit for the National Visa Center. A question that I have been researching, without finding definitive information, is whether I will need to submit police certificates for my husband to the NVC, or is that something that he will bring to the embassy for his interview, or both? I keep seeing contradictory information. Perhaps it varies from country to country? I apologize if I've missed the information elsewhere on the site, and ask humbly to please be directed to it-- Thank you in Advance!

Thanks so much for the info-- If I read it correctly, we DO have to submit all of our spouse's original documents? (birth certificate, police certificates, et cetera) Do you mind sharing how you are managing that from the US? Or maybe you knew ahead and brought those documents with you? Also, I don't quite follow how it's supposed to work with the DS-230-- if my husband completes it, then does he have to send an original signed copy to me before I can forward that on? It might be difficult in any case for him to fill out the form, as his English is limited. And now I am seeing that we are supposed to use DS-260 in the future? Or am I confused?
