I797 notice weird wording or is it normal?

So I received my I797 notice of approval today and in it says that the person i am petitioning for is in the USA, but my husband is not. It also says to apply for the I824 if the person chooses to apply outside the USA, doesn't make any sense because he is not in the USA . Did anyone had similar notice? Or is that how it usually works?

It's likely a USCIS error.

You should contact one of your congressional representatives and they might be able to get the petition moved over to the NVC without you needing to have to file (and pay for) an I-824. although the government shutdown might make this difficult in the short-term.

I don't understand why i should be getting an I824 for when in the application i clearly stated that my husband was in France and his embassy would be Paris. I am livid because that's more waiting for us to actually start our lives. If we pay the 404$ fee do we have to pay the other 420$ fee as well? Thanks for your advice by the way.

I had that exact wording, I had been freaking out prior because I left Q22 blank in the I-130.

Ultimately, an Immigration Liason Staffer Human at my Congressman's Office got it fixed.

Thanks, i was able to email the NVC and 4 days later they received my case. So it was a USCIS error and they fixed it as well after i called the USCIS and requested them to do so.

OMG I left this blank too! Even though I showed it to a lawyer the moron did not catch it!

Edit: I did not leave it blank but instead put NA for all of the fields.
