If this is your first time entering the US, you will have to go to the waiting room and they will check your paper work, medical and check your luggage. It usually take an hour to two hours depending on the traffic. Your connecting should be at least 3hours after your Arrival to the US, so you have enough time to pass through customs

They will review all your paperwork, ask some questions and if you have no issues with you or you're luggage you will not be searched. Personally I would leave 4 hours but each POE is different, remember you have to get your luggage, go to another terminal etc., coming from UK you should not have any issues. Good Luck. PS- see the UK site for other members reports on your question.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

You could also try looking at the reviews for your particular POE. There is a link at the top of every VJ page (Reviews: Embassy/ USCIS & POE) if you are on a computer.

Please to click on POE Reviews at the top of the screen, when logged in to a PC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
