Approved I assume? How long for the letter?

Status on USCIS site

On September 30, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

As of today, Oct 3, I still haven't rec'd a letter. In the meantime,

Status on USCIS site now says

On October 1, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

1) how long does it take to get the letter. ?

Woo! Expect the approval letter in 10 business days. You will need that letter for AOS, down the line after you are married, too. Sept 30 is only 3 days ago and this day is not yet over, so don't panic yet. The letter will be mailed to the USC.

Why did you write assumed? I mean what part of the email was ambigous as to it being an approval?

Just curious as I see this all the time on VJ.

I used `assumed `because I have not received an official letter, all the information I have at the moment is from the website. It was not an email.

I've seen this to a lot on VJ and I'm so bewildered as to what USCIS would need to write in the letter to let people know that they have been approved, Hahahaha. I suppose emoticons and the word "apprvd or #approved" would be better suited. I'm sorry just had to vent a little.

I've always wanted to ask and I took this opportunity since OPs post was very eloquently written and showed a good command of Her Imperial Majestys english.

Email or website nonewithstanding, it is still an official communication from the US government peppered with the words "approved".

Are y'all saying its possible that the internet cant be wrong? I still like to get my paws on an official tangible document that is as important & life changing as this.

You received official communication from USCIS, this information was not posted in some chat room and addressed to you, c'mon.

I can understand you wanting to receive the letter in your hand but I believe the fact that this information is now being provided on the official website of USCIS is a great asset. 10 days before you receive the official letter in the mail, you know that your petition has been approved and you can spend those two weeks working on the next steps of your journey.

Anyways, good luck to you on the next steps of your journey.

Don't let anyone take the wind out of your sail!! People didn't obviously read the whole post, they get stuck on nuances perhaps forgetting that this site is international.

CONGRATS and can't wait for you to get your physical evidence!! I would/will need it as well!!
