she didn't have a positive tb result. In fact, she has been tested for tb several times throughout the years and always been negative. The problem is that the x-ray showed a pulminary scar from childhood (which can be caused by a multitude of benign events or even pollution int he air). The problem is that now our visa will be delayed for several months for a sputum test, even though tb has been ruled out many times. We are asking if this could harm our visa or just delay ?

No problem with them approving the visa, you will just have to wait until the sputum test is finished. Be glad they are letting you to go ahead with the interview. They made my wife wait until the test was complete before they would do her interview.

This is becoming very normal in these days which is called Sputum Test for TB for US Visa and it is time and money consuming with frustration. Well this will not affect the interview, you should plan as normal interview. Once the interview is done then they will tell you to submit your Medical Report to the nearest Drop Off box within a year (I have seen this in my sisters case). They do not hold the Visa but will hold the process till you submit the requirements. Once the requirements are complete then they will start the process and let you know the out come of your Visa Application. Good Luck!!!!

Today, i went to another hospital to check up for the TB test. as i was upset as well as scared that i really have TB, since my fiance is here and he might be sick because of me . so i was worried we decided to go for check up at moolchand hospital. we were asked to pay fee and TB specialist doctor asked me about my medical history and my present condition and he checked my chest.then he asked me to do X-ray, and we shared our concern and situation that we are in, hence he waited till our x-ray are in his hand actually he was about to leave but he waited for us. then he was like u got nothing to worry about, ur X-ray is normal and i am very much fit. there is no traces of scar at all. still we were not satisfied hence we went to see radiologist and he said its clear and asked do we have the x-ray that we did at max but max hospital dont give x-ray, so i was like no. then he said u do one more x-ray and he was like u have no problem or scar or any thing in ur chest . and he said we should dispute it.

basicaly i feel Max hospital is delaying our visa with no evidence . dont know how to slove the problem

Opening old thread but this is still the case with many people in India.

Basically I think is is just money grabbing scheme. Each person have to pay Rs10,000 for that test and they does 10-20 test daily.

Now a days they just cancels's your interview date and you will have to wait for two month then if you do not have TB they will issue another interview date. i.e you now have to wait for 3 more month.

How does the U.S. benefit from this? Do you think the U.S. embassy get any of the fees for the tests? Maybe we just want people to be treated for TB before getting into places where the disease can spread.

I am in the same situation as you. My wife had 3 day sputum test completed on May 14th. Her CR1 interview is scheduled at Mumbai on June 11th. Did they deny your visa for not having medical? How was the interview did you reschedule or you went for the originial interview as scheduled by NVC? Please kindly reply.
