Last time I checked, the bible says love thy neighbor. If your neighbor was gay and black, could you accomplish such a feat?

The bible also says if you catch your neighbor doing yard work on Sunday you should stone him to death. i would be good to my neighbor until they did not deserve . No matter there color or sexual status

Speaking of bigots, it would seem the Grand dad was just as much of one for cutting off his child.

Very few Grand parents know what the family dynamics are like anyway so he could be reacting without knowing all the facts.

Wouldn't be the first time a child told only half the story or embellished why he got the boot.

I guess there is a point at which I would cut a child off, not sure what that is though.

To be fair, many people embrace Bibles based foundations for social morality..... even if they themselves are not into the bible or even believers.

In the same sense I am all for recycling, even if I don't personally bother.... I can still appreciate the merits of it.

The bible was not meant to be followed. It was meant to be thumped and brandished by the unaware at everything and everyone that reminds them of their miserable existence - an art mastered by the alleged christians of our nation...

Unfortunately - Until the overwhelming majority of protestant leadership follows the (current) Pope's lead & speaks out in favor of tolerance / acceptance - Gay Hate IS Christianity.

Not sure if you got confused by headlines.

Having homosexual, adulteress or other type desires is not considered sinful, acting on them was and still is.

The Pope can no more change this (if he wanted to) than Obama could amend the constitution.

Well first of all, he can't be referring to the Catholic church in America, he might have other locations in mind because the Church here has don't everything possible (within law) to welcome and affirm Gays.

THe Church is growing in Africa and it could be they have some problems there with treating Gays as lepers or beyond the grace of God.

But as to my point-
