Fed offices closed ... does this affect AOS?

Hello. I have updated my information for everyone here at VJ but I had a question.

The SS office is closed to updating cards because of the GOVT shut down in place.

Is this going to affect us filing the AOS since we can't update here SSN or her Drivers License number?

The supervisor (or Go To Guy as the Guard referred to him as) at the SSN office told me that I was going to have to contact Homeland Security and get them to extend Aya's Visa (even though we got married before the OCT 8th deadline). I promptly asked him if he knew what a K1 visa was and then when he looked at me stupid, I asked him to get one of his underlings that actually knew their job to come and explain it to him. The Guard then asked me to leave.

I just want to make sure I do not need to get a hold of DHS to extend anything since the SSN can't be updated as of right now till that shutdown ends.

POE date was 2013-07-11

so if she already has a SSN and all you want to do is to UPDATE it with the married name,

then wait for the EAD or greencard, come back with that in hand.

IMO, the I-94 window (74 days past POE date) is gone , so it'll be useless to go in again without an EAD or Greencard in hand, showing the new name.

we returned to ss office with marriage certificate (after previously receiving ss# in maiden/visa name) they sent us away saying they can not update ss#/name without EAD or greencard... so we are waiting for ead...
