Biometrics appointment went well. The security officers talked to me in Tagalog XD All in all, it was a good experience.

YAY! Now all we gotta do is wait for updates on our EAD/AP's. LOL. Aww, I haven't met any Filipino/a yet that has tried to talk to me in Tagalog. They must think I was born and raised in a non-Tagalog household.

Thanks Mrs.Presson! smile.png

Yay for getting the biometrics done and quickly smile.png

Glad to see so many people getting through biometrics so easily! Sounds like a piece of cake! good.gif

You're welcome! :D Yeah, biometrics is rather easy. Just don't forget the necessary docs and you'll be fine. ;)

Got my biometrics done today as well. It went super quick. Good thing I was reading this thread before I went or I wouldn't have brought my marriage certificate. smile.png

Hooray for you! :D Now you join us with the wait for updates. Haha. :)

Update: Did my biometrics today! As a walk-in in the Salt Lake City office. I got there early but there were a few people in front of me, so it took about half an hour, but there were no problems. Glad to get this done in advance of the appointment! Now to hear about the interview!

Does anyone know if my application will go any quicker since I already have an Employment Authorization Card and they can skip that step?

He saw my passport and then started saying Tagalog more fluently than my husband. :D Most of my husband's relatives were surprised that speaking in English was easy for me, and I told them that I think watching American shows on cable TV, like How I Met Your Mother might've helped. XD Sorry for being OOT.

I guess now I'm just waiting for the EAD. Does the USCIS website change something in the status of your case/s when one finished their biometrics appointment?

Congrats on the walk-in! :) A walk-in / getting biometrics done doesn't guarantee a quicker process for the whole of AOS though. Sorry.

You already have an Employment Authorization Card? What category are you adjusting from? (Sorry, you got me confused there. Tried to check your timeline page too and there's nothing there. timeline.gif )

OOT is fine. English is easy for most of us Filipinos though. It's taught since kindergarten and it's one of our Official Languages. :))

Sometimes case status update happens hours after the appointment, some days later, some a month later. Mine hasn't update yet though.

Can I ask why you expected the RFE?

Glad to see so many people getting through biometrics so easily! Sounds like a piece of cake! good.gif

Hey :)

I was missing tax transcripts from my father in law and honestly did not want to wait any longer to send it out. I figured, at least I will know when they looked at my file ;)

I also sent only the medical form from my country which was marked vaccinations complete but one can never be sure. They might want additional shots, I had already gotten the form filled out by a doctor here and he is waiting to see if i need it or not.

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014

NOA1 for ROC 14 October, 2014

Life goes on, my ex-husband is a moron.

I came here as a student on an F-1 visa and am currently in my OPT year (still on F-1 visa). I graduated and started work before we got married, so I had to get the EAC earlier. So annoying!

I'll set up the timeline thing in a signature as soon as I'm above three posts... which is when they let me post one.

Unfortunately, I just saw that our status has been changed to RFE. Argh... I wonder what it is they need? We checked everything with an attorney. :(

In the interview, however, the US Citizen spouse should be present. I think. (Anybody please correct me if I'm wrong. biggrin.png)

6. Go to your interview (if applicable)

You may be notified of the date, time, and location for an interview at a USCIS office to answer questions under oath or affirmation regarding your application. You must attend all interviews when you receive a notice.

When you come to your interview, you (and the family member that filed the Form I-130 petition on your behalf, if applicable) must bring originals of all documentation submitted with this application including passports, official travel documents, and Form I-94 regardless if they are expired.

I suppose this applies to other petitioners as well. Like Petitioner for I-129F, etc.

Of course, don't forget to bring proof of his citizenship like passport or birth certificate.

Ahh, that explains it.

Sorry to hear about the RFE. :( Just think, it's just a bit of a snag. You'll get back on track after you comply with the RFE docs. At least you already have an EAC. For most of us, we're itching to work already! LOL.

I am about to go insane. Our RFE is for my certified translation of my birth certificate, which I had sent to them but apparently it got lost somewhere. I am so so upset since this is about work authorization and i really need to work so badly so we can get a place of our own. Now I need to find a translator pay god knows how much for it and send it off. Apparently the wait time resets to 3 months from when they get the RFE response.

Gonna go cry now.

Do you not have the original translation anymore? There wasn't an original needed. But if you need a new translation, try USCTS. (http://www.uscts.com/) That's where I got my translation from and it was only $40.
