OK, maybe I spoke too soon.

Yesterday morning I received the following email, which generated the above post.

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On March 18, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

Last night we recieve this email:

Your Case Status: Decision

On March 18, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

I also note that the USCIS website change our status from "Card /Document Production" yesterday to "Decision" today.

OK, it's all still progress from March 17, but I no longer know where we stand.

Does anyone know what any of this means?

Has anyone else gotten this forward and the back again sequence of emails?

Today we got another copy of the "card is in production" email and the status on the USCIS site has gone from "Decision" back to "Card /Document Production."

It seems like we're on a roller-coaster here. Who knows what it all really means.

This happened to us as well! We got a letter in the mail setting our interview for April 24 (no texts/emails and I spoke to them on the phone just last week). So excited though! I was really surprised because at last update our field office said it was only processing August applications. So I guess sometimes the processing estimates are off!

That's definitely good news! It means processing is moving along. Hopefully, we'd get something soon too! :D (Our Field Office, Saint Paul MN, is stuck at August 20, 2013 as of January 31st 2014!)

Just out of curiosity those who got the interview set for April did you receive the potential interview waived before and now you got the interview? Or you haven’t heard anything from them since biometric until you received the letter for interview?

Ignore this. My office, Salt Lake City, was stuck at June during Jan-Feb and updated to August 14 last week. We got our interview anyway :D Wishing you luck!!

We did Biometrics in early Nov, had a couple of RFEs (in Nov and Dec), then received notice (text message and email) that our status had changed to Interview and Testing in late January—that just put us in the queue to have our interview scheduled. That was the last notification we got before receiving the actual letter with our interview date and time in the mail.
