Our 485 was accepted on October 30, 2013. We received and completed biometrics, and have also received our EAD with the travel permit on January 03, 2014. However the Case status for the 485 has not changed from "acceptance" and is being processed at the National Benefits Center.

It has been 120 days since our application was accepted, and we've heard nothing. Is something wrong?

Ours was accepted Oct 3 and has been in acceptance as well for now 148 days. I read in the forums that this is common and it will change to once approved. I'm not too worried about it, we got the EAD/Travel documents, and interview waiver so I'm sure it's in queue.

Thanks for the reassurance! We are planning a 3 week trip to return to Brazil at the end of May. I am hoping to have the Green Card by then. But if not, I just hope everything goes smoothly with the EAD/Travel Permit in hand.

Hi all. Apologies, been extremely busy with work.

Anyway, weird thing about my AP status happened today. Note that I already have my EAD/AP Combo Card but both my husband and I got an alert through sms and email that my I-131 / AP status had changed, that my address was updated. I got excited, I thought I was getting news about my GC. Oh well.

Got my potential interview waiver on January 17th (letter dated Jan 10th). Still no movement on my AOS Case Status.

Fingers crossed that will happen. The job search is keeping my mind from the green card at the minute which is a welcome distraction, hopefully you might here soon, I know we are on very similar timelines smile.png

yes, we are. :) we are not too worried either - we might be one of those that never gets the letter and just goes to card production - I guess if we were going to have an interview, we would know by now?

I think you should be fine with the EAD/AP. Sounds like a wonderful long trip! :)

Never have to apologize Mrs P - so glad you found a job..are you liking it? :) My hubby is applying now...hopefully will get something soon!

That is odd about the AP thing. Maybe Monday you will see something move on the GC?

We had an odd thing happen with the website. I used to get the emails as the USC when we were still going through the K1 process..and when I tried to log in, it said it had been too long and wouldn't let me change my login. So i made one with my hubby's name and email and that was going fine and all of sudden, it said we had been locked out - yet, it hadn't been too long - we had checked it the day before. so now we have to just rely on the home check your status screen without being logged in or getting any notifications. Have you heard of that happening before? I wonder if I can create a new acct with a different email although I think I tried that and I couldn't. dang USCIS!

Did your status on uscis website change to approved or did the green card just show up in mailbox (similiar to the interview waiver)?

it changed from 2x...it was card in production then back to decision activity but either way I had it within 3 days of first change.

I called USCIS yesterday at work and I was #84 in line for tier 2. LOL I had them call me back though so that I don't lose my spot in the waiting line. They called me back just as I was going home from work in -20+F weather! UGH. :))

Work is going great. I like it a lot. I came from working in a digital advertising firm which was really fast-paced. Having to work for a software company that's slower-paced is very refreshing. I get to be productive at my own rate and produce (better) quality output.

Regarding your USCIS account: Yeah, it happens when it doesn't have any activity. You get locked out. It happened to my husband's account. Then we were able to retrieve the password. ALTHOUGH...Yes you can definitely create a new account. That's what I did. In my husband's account, he had my case receipts added so he gets news. And I created a new account and added in the same case receipts on my USCIS account, so I get updates through email and SMS too. :)

I hope your hubby gets good news with the job hunt soon! :D

Got GC today !

Woot woot! Congratulations! :D

I really hope so! I talked to an Immigration Officer yesterday and he said, it's nothing. Just a lapse/lag in the system (WOW 3 months of lag?!). That I should be ok because I have my EAD/AP and should be busy with work. That's it. LOL. How's job hunting for you going?

Pfft lapse. Or maybe USCIS just wants to keep you in the dark for a little bit more then surprise you with the GC when you least expect it. ;D I'll cross my fingers for you and the rest of the October filers who hasn't been approved yet.

Doin' good so far (I think) with the job hunting. Passed the first interview and I had a video skills practice yesterday. Here's hoping!

Dear all,

On January 16th, we received a letter for a potential interview waiver, therefore we believed our case would take a lot longer.

However, on March 21st while at work I received a called from our case officer.

He was reviewing my spouse's I-485 application and kindly asked me if I had included a copy of our marriage certificate since he was in the process of arranging our interview.

Then, I asked him if I could stop by his office in order to drop the marriage certificate and he said that would be fine and that my spouse should come along as he would like to ask her a couple of questions.

As soon as I hung up the phone, I called my wife and asked her to leave work and to meet me outside the federal building with all our USCIS paperwork.

We walked in and the officer took us into his small office. He reviewed our case, asked for proof of marriage, my spouse' medical insurance card from my employer as well as copies our joint bank statements and utilities' bills.

He asked her some questions and the stamped her application with a Approved seal.

Then he congratulated her and explained her then next due process (ROC).

After that, my spouse mentioned that she would have to travel out the country due to work and expressed her concern regarding the arrival of her new green card.

Luckily for us, the case officer was nice enough to order the production of her new card, saying it should arrive in a few days.

Our case was adjuricated in Los Angeles and please feel free to asked any questions.

No update for me.. I also got the Potential Interview Waiver Letter in January but I haven't heard anything since then.

Well..I guess this is not completely true. There was an ''update'' on February 11: My birth date was changed. (Right after we sent in the AOS application, we noticed that my birth year said 2013. So we called and they told us to write a letter, explain the mistake and tell them what needs to be changed. So after 4 months, the birth date was finally updated. biggrin.png) I thought this is a good sign and that they are working on the case now. We will see though. This is over 3 weeks ago now and I have heard nothing since then.
