your husband won't receive any notification for 'arrival'. there will be notification after fees are paid.

Since he used an attorney, the good news is that the 2 fee bills are generated same day, so things will go faster for you, saving about 4 to 5 weeks of wait time.

since yer here, asking questions ;) please to make yer timeline over at

Thanks so much, and Thanks in advance !

So if you have an attorney, don't they need to fill up the ds261 too? Since Sept. 3 there is this new form online for the choice of agent and it takes about 10-20 business days just to have it accepted. As of now, NVC really had gotten slow. There are two fees the AOS and the IV fee, IV fee is dependent to the acceptance of the ds 261 right? Unless the ds261 is filled out and accepted, no iv fee is generated . The call center rep at NVC had been saying too that the review of the aos and iv documents takes 30 business days...well some are not really per what our other members had experience. So there is still a long way ahead of you.....

no - fees are 'same day' with an attorney.

also, the attorney will fill out the ds-260.

since there is an attorney, there is no DS-261, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

all that stuff is bypassed if there's attorney attached to the casefile, with a G-28 filed with the I-130.

I'm thinking that's the case for the OP, fwiw all correspondence goes to the lawyer. Sometimes the petitioner will get stuff, when a lawyer is attached, but it's not the norm.

Ultimately, the interview letter will get emailed out , so that's a plus, but also the end-game, final result, at NVC.

Oh I see...good luck to the OP then :)

Right, with attorney you don't need DS-261. You will also be invoiced for the AoS and IV fees at the same time once they generate your case number. You basically save about a month's worth of processing time.

As for the flow of things, there should be information in on of the "<Month> NVC Filers" threads, go read in those. Or look at people signatures, most of us have spelled out our experiences.

Plus, you have an attorney. Isn't he/she giving you any direction at all? I would start calling the attorney to get THEM to find this stuff out for you. That's why you are paying them.

Depends if the attorney is a slacker or not. He may sit on it for weeks.

hey guys, i so really depressed about the issue of shut down in america, they said all the beneficiary ang petitioner are really affected? isnt true?? are we affected by the shutdow? is that mean that our papers are stop? anyway my PD is aug 14, 2013 and may case was approves by aug 28, 2013. and by papers are now processing to the NVC? your answer will be a gratehelp for me. thank you and Godbless us

.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Negative rumors get fuelled at the drop of a hat...USCIS says it has no shut-down on processing papers....this system somewhat carries itself by fees paid, MAYBE its slows a bit due to other Federal depts. to be contacted Re: some applicants...time ppl stop spreading

rumors and causing un-necessary anguish to themselves, what the use in getting immigration papers then having a heart attack or stroke due to stress a few days , weeks or months later. If it did affect it what willing stressing and rumors do?...nothimg'
