I get very anxious and cranky if we have to drive around the parking lot looking for parking, *especially* if you get stuck behind someone waiting for an spot to open. Just hate it!

Ever since my stroke 3.5 years ago, I suffer from periodic panic attacks. I used to be able to speak in front of large groups of people or strangers, or perform (sing, play instruments) -- now the thought of that makes me incredibly anxious and fraks me out. Also, loud noises in confined spaces causes my brain to get very agitated, and I have to remove myself from the situation to calm myself down.

Quite frankly, it sucks. :(

When I went to visit Sujeet in India in 2003, it was the first time I was going on a plane since the age of 3. So I was very nervous for weeks up to it, never panicking but would feel really nervous if I thought too much about it.

Before getting on the plane, I was so nervous I couldn't eat. But I didn't exhibit any panic behavior, I just got really quiet and seemed calm to those around me but inside the heart was thumping! My dad went with me so that helped a lot, and even though I was 22, I held my dad's hand on the first take off!! :) Then by the time we got to India, which was landing 3 times and taking off 3 times ONE way, I was used to flying. Now I am not so scared of it. I don't love it but can do it. It's been conquered.

Whenever I am very scared, I don't scream or have a panic attack, I just get really quiet and make my mind try to ignore whatever is scaring me, and I pray. Like when I have gone on a scary ride at a theme park, if I feel way too scared, I can't scream or anything. I just close my eyes and pretend I'm not there. hehe. I always say in my mind..."this too shall pass!!!" and it actually helps a lot.

I also used to get very nervous speaking in front of people but I have gotten a lot better with that over the last 3 years. I still won't go on roller coasters though.

The worst anxiety I felt lately was last summer when I accidentally make a wrong turn on a mountain road in Tennessee and ended up on a narrow steep road winding down the mountain that had no barriers on the edge of the road, just a nice looking cliff that went into rocks and trees.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and am trying to work with a therapist to control it. It's hereditary, my grandma, aunt, mom, sister, and oldest niece suffer from them too. My panic attacks vary depending on how bad they are... sometimes they're heart racing, whole body sweating, getting dizzy and nearly fainting... sometimes they're sobbing uncontrollably and shaking so hard I can barely talk. *sigh* We'll get them under control, I'm sure of that.

I have had a few panic attacks in the last few years, and they're awful! It makes me feel like I am going to die. Pacing back and forth usually helps (and I'm serious, even though I know that's weird). Usually, it comes on without warning and with no real cause.

I've had a few minor panic attacks in the past and just recently started having them again. I had one the day I left for Egypt (July 1). I was driving and doing my last minute running around before I headed to the airport and I just started panicking and crying. I had to pull over. I just kept praying and asking God to help me and after a few minutes I was fine, alhamdulillah. I'm having awful separation anxiety being away from my husband. Some days are better than others but for the most part I'm having a hell of a time dealing with this. I have (sometimes severe) moodswings that feel like I have a monster inside my body. I know when they're about to come on but I can't stop them. It's awful!
