Depends on the state, but most cannot drive until they have their EADs.

You should be able to get a license with your EAD card. Your license will then expire when your EAD does (1 year).

It depends on your state, most states will let you drive on international drivers license. Otherwise, it will expire when I-94 expires.

Most states will let you drive for anywhere from 3 months to a year on an overseas license, don't know why you'd really be that worried about getting a license on your K-1. Also quite a few states will accept your NOA1 for AOS for a temporary license for a year.

If you have your French driving license then in (I assume) most States you're fine. You can drive on your license as long as you remain a resident of the foreign country you come from. Although you should check with the local DMV for details.

If you are in California like your profile says, you should check with the DMV there. They aren't requiring immigration status to get a license now, although I could still see them making the license expire on the same day as the I-94 for those who actually have one. Otherwise, your French license should be OK until you have U.S. residency (or at lease your EAD).
